1.Commitmenttoworkingwithparents.
WeareproudatInspiredschoolstohaveexcellentrelationships,basedonsharedbeliefs andcommongoals,betweenstudents,staffandparents–thispartnershipiskeytothe successofourschoolsandensuringstudentscancontinuetoflourishinapositiveand supportiveenvironment.
Weencourageandwelcomeparents’fullparticipationinthelifeofourschools,aspartofa mutuallysupportivecommunitythatembodiestheethosandvaluesoftheschool,inthe bestinterestsofthestudents;wearecommittedtolisteningtoparentalfeedbackto supportourschoolsinbeingtheverybesttheycanbe-thiscodeofconductclarifiesour expectationsofthisrelationship.
Theschool’sphilosophyandvaluesshouldbeconsideredasbeingsharedbyallmembersof thecommunity,includingparents,andhenceparentsareexpectedtoupholdthesevalues inalloftheirinteractionswiththeschoolanditscommunity.
Everymemberofourcommunitydeservestobetreatedwithrespect,dignity,and tolerance;theyarealsocornerstonesoftheInspiredphilosophy.Wedemanditofallour studentsandexpectalladults,includingparents,toabidebythesestandardsandsetagood exampleintheirownspeechandbehaviour.
2.Communicatingwithschool.
Weunderstandthattherewillbeoccasionswhenparentsandguardianswishtoraise concernsorcomplaints–weaskparentstosharethesewithschoolleadershipthroughthe appropriatechannelsand/orfollowingtheschool’scomplaintspolicy,sothesecanbe quicklyresolvedforthebestinterestsofourstudents.
Weexpectbehaviourandcommunicationsbetweenparentsandschooltobealways respectfulandmindfulofthemodellingofbestbehavioursweexpectofourstudents, whetheratschoolevents,inperson,onthetelephoneoronline.

Intheeventofdisagreementsbetweenschoolstaffandparents,theseshouldnotbe workedthroughinsightoftheparent’schildrenor,indeed,anyotherstudentsinthe school.Webelievethatwhenhomeandschoolcanpresentasharedopinionordecisionto children/students,thisisultimatelybeneficialaspartofthestudent’slearningand developmentprocess.
Weexpectparentstofollowandupholdallproceduresoutlinedintheschool’spublished policies.
3.Behaviourandcommunicationthatisunacceptable.
Wewillalwaysdoallwecantofacilitatecommunicationwithparentsthatisconsistentwith theaboveprinciplesinresolvingtheconcernorthecomplaint,butwewillnottolerate communicationorbehaviourweconsiderdisrespectful,abusiveorthreatening.
Behavioursthatweconsidertobeunacceptableinclude,butarenotlimitedto:
Communicationorbehaviourthatisdisrespectful,offensive,aggressive,abusive, defamatory,threatening,harassing,bullyingorotherwiseconsideredunacceptable, whetherthisisatschoolevents,inperson,onthetelephone,byemailoronsocial media.
Behaviourorcommunicationsthatbreachschoolpolicies,safetyorprocedures.
Disruptivebehaviourincludingoffensivelanguageordisplaysofangerwhich interferesorthreatenstointerferewiththenormal,dailyoperationoftheschool.
Inappropriatepostingoflibellous,defamatory,maliciousorthreateningmessageson emailsandontraditionalandsocialmediaabouttheschoolorindividualsconnected withit,includingcreatingorjoiningprivategroupsorchatsthatvictimiseorharass anindividualconnectedwiththeschoolortheschoolingeneral,orpotentially damagetheschool’sreputation.
4.Consequencesofbreachingparentcodeofconduct.
Wherebehavioursaredisplayedbyparentsthatbreachtheparentcodeofconduct,the schoolwillattempttofacilitatemoreeffectivelinesofcommunication,investigate,andseek toresolvetheseissues.
Wherethatisnotpossible,theschoolreservestherighttotakeanyactionstoensurethat membersoftheschoolcommunityarenotsubjecttoabuse.Actionstheschoolcantake are,butnotlimitedtoinclude:
requestforameetingtoresolvetheissue.
