For this issue, AOITORI visited Freya Joukes, the head of a Belgium-based workshop Altri Tempi specialising in the restoration of cultural heritage. Her work has taken her to numerous projects in Belgium and abroad, including the Château de Modave, known for its striking ceiling decorations, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, which was severely damaged by fire several years ago.
Restoring cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations — this is the important mission behind the projects Freya takes on. What does she value most in her work?
- AOITORI is the community magazine for Japanese people in Belgium. It is distributed at the Japanese Embassy, food stores and contact points. We provide advertising opportunities for Belgian companies and organisations.
