I believe in our organization and am confident we are in a strong position to advance health care quality, innovation and the overall patient experience. We are in the midst of a pivotal moment for Inspira Health. Together, we have made so many meaningful contributions to South Jersey. Over this next year, I will remain deeply committed to continuing this important momentum and working together to deliver on the great work that lies ahead for Inspira Health, while keeping the health of our patients and their families at the forefront of all that we do.
To propel our organization’s continued success, the Inspira Health Network Board of Trustees has selected Korn Ferry, a global consulting firm, to conduct a thorough, thoughtful search to ensure a strong successor—and to have a seamless transition. As such, both internal and external candidates will be considered for this position. I’m confident that this process will identify the most qualified person to lead Inspira Health into the future. Thank you, as always, for all you do to fulfill our mission of providing high quality health services that improve the lives of all we serve. Through our continued commitment and dedicated efforts, we can sustain our momentum throughout 2020 and beyond.
Vineland's Medical Acute Care Unit Wins PRISM Award Inspira Medical Center Vineland’s Medical Acute Care Unit has been awarded the PRISM Award®, a national honor recognizing exceptional nursing practice, leadership and outcomes in hospital medical-surgical units. Inspira now holds a total of four PRISM recognitions with its Vineland and Elmer hospitals each having two. The award, which stands for “Premier Recognition In the Specialty of MedSurg,” is co-sponsored by the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses and the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board. The PRISM Award recognizes the collective achievements and contributions of the nursing unit and its staff. It is a public symbol of an acute care nursing unit’s journey to optimal outcomes and exceptional patient care. The award celebrates units that exhibit: • Effective leadership • Recruitment and retention of competent staff members • Evidence-based practice
• Positive patient outcomes • A healthy practice environment • Lifelong learning by members of the staff

Inspira Honored by NJ Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Inspira was just one of two networks in the state to be presented with Antimicrobial Stewardship gold awards for all of its campuses by the Department of Health. The New Jersey Antimicrobial Stewardship Recognition Awards is a voluntary, incentive program that encourages health care facilities to assess how well they are applying the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Core Elements of Antibiotic Stewardship, a set of key principles to guide efforts to improve antibiotic use, advance patient safety, and improve outcomes.
Professional Achievements Nancy Franciotti, R.N., CCDS, clinical documentation integrity (CDI) manager, Inspira Health, was interviewed and featured in the January/February 2020 edition of the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist’s Journal. CDI is the recognized process of improving health care records to ensure improved patient outcomes, data quality and accurate reimbursement. Nancy started the Inspira CDI program in 2018. It has been successful at improving the quality of documentation and was recently honored for its success.
Scott Dawson, M.D., director of the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, at Inspira Health Center Woodbury and cardiologist with Cardiac Partners at Cooper and Inspira, recently received his designation as a Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC). This is the most distinguished designation awarded by the ASNC and recognizes Dr. Dawson as a cardiovascular imaging professional at the top of his field. Dr. Dawson is Inspira Health’s and Inspira Medical Group’s first nationally recognized physician as a Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

Vineland Receives Bereavement Cradle for Grieving Families Inspira Vineland recently received a Cenotaph bereavement cradle to help grieving families. The cradle was presented during Inspira’s annual remembrance ceremony held in December. Cenotaph hosted a contest in October for pregnancy and infant loss awareness month, where they accepted nominations for a cradle. Inspira nurses nominated the hospital and Inspira was randomly chosen. The winning vote was submitted by Nicole Kashow, R.N., Labor & Delivery, Vineland. The cradle is valued at $5,000. The idea behind the Cenotaph cradle is to allow families more time to say goodbye to their baby in a comfortable atmosphere at their own pace.
