Unified Run Raises more than $22,000 for the Special Olympics Inspira hosted and sponsored the Unified 5K Run to benefit the Special Olympics of New Jersey on November 2 at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill. Ribbon Cutting and VIP Event Approximately 500 community members and Inspira employees attended a VIP grand opening event and ribbon cutting ceremony on November 8. Employee & Community Day Inspira hosted a celebratory event for both employees, their families, and the community on November 9. Activities included sneak peek tours of the new hospital, children’s activities, interactive exhibitor booths, and fun for the whole family. To view photos, click here.

Service Spotlight: Nutrition Counseling With the holidays just around the corner, schedules are filling up and wellness can take a backseat. Inspira Health’s outpatient Registered Dietitians can help patients develop a strategy that fits their lifestyle and help them reach goals around diet change, meal planning, and navigating the holidays. Inspira’s dietitians will provide patients with a nutrition assessment, guide them through meal planning, and meet with them through a series of one-to-one sessions to help them achieve optimal health and well-being. During the sessions, patients will receive and learn progressive meal plans/menus, behavior modification techniques, and healthier food options.

Nutrition counseling topics also include: • Diabetes/Pre-diabetes/Gestational Diabetes • Heart Health: High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure • Malnutrition/ unplanned weight loss • Cancer • Food Allergies • Kidney Disease • Gastrointestinal disorders, including: Celiac Disease, Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Pancreatitis, Cirrhosis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Gastroparesis, Reflux Disease (GERD), Gastric Ulcers

In addition to nutritional counseling, Inspira’s dietitians also provide adult weight management counseling, child weight management counseling, and bariatric nutrition counseling and support groups. A written prescription from your doctor is required for Nutrition Counseling. Many insurances cover these services but may need prior approval. Inspira Horizon OMNIA plan members are covered for unlimited visits with a prescription. AHA Team Inspira Heart Walk

Inspira Health raised more than $2,500 for the American Heart Association at the Southern New Jersey Fall 2019 Heart Walk in West Deptford on October 26. Team Inspira had over 35 members check in and walk to help end heart disease and stroke.

Inspira Salutes Veterans

On Monday, November 11, Inspira held ceremonies at each campus to honor our nation's Veterans. Veterans and active duty personnel in the hospital were recognized and given a keepsake flag. Flags were also given to visitors at the front desks.
