Too many of us were raised to be quiet, invisible, to take up as little space as possible. But I insist on taking up space. I make my voice heard through art and writing. I will cast a shadow.

Shadow of a Man: 96 ​Élan Cadiz

T​ his series is about my grandfather, Andres Cadiz, and his slowly dying body due to cancer and old age. He’s 96 years old and despite his strong will and adventurous spirit he is now a shut in, confined to his apartment in the sky and waiting to die. He is now a shadow of the man he once was.
