Uniworld To Celebrate 50th Anniversary In 2026 With New Offerings

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises Announces What’s New for 2026, Including a New Ship, additional Mystery Cruises, and a 50-night Rivers of the World Journey.

LOS ANGELES – March 18, 2025 – Uniworld Boutique River Cruises announces its new offerings for 2026, including the debut of the S.S. Emilie, a brand-new build and unique addition to the fleet, inspired by Austrian painter Gustav Klimt. Uniworld will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026, ushering in a lineup of offerings to celebrate the milestone, such as a 50-night ‘Rivers of the World’ sailing, three new Mystery Cruises, a new family-friendly Generations Collection offering and more.

“As we look to celebrate our 50th anniversary next year, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished,” says Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld. “Uniworld debuted in 1976 as a tour company that soon became the first North American company to offer cruises throughout Europe. During our five decades in the industry, we’ve strived to continuously innovate and delight our guests with once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Through it all, the heart of who we are has remained the same, and we’re excited to offer new journeys next year to celebrate our history, our future and our treasured guests.”

Uniworld’s new offerings for 2026 include:

The S.S. Emilie Joins the Uniworld Fleet

In 2026, the S.S. Emilie will debut on the Danube River across eight different itineraries throughout Europe. The 154-passenger ship is the brand’s first new build since 2021, with a design inspired by renowned Austrian painter Gustav Klimt and named after his life partner and muse, Emilie Flöge. The new river ship is a first of its kind and will feature Klimt’s signature style woven throughout the ship’s design, showcasing dramatic hues of green, blue and yellow, striking gold accents, and plenty of Art Nouveau touches. In addition to a one-of-a-kind onboard restaurant, lounge and bar, the S.S. Emilie will allow guests to book a spacious two-bedroom suite when reserving a Grand Suite with the adjoining Deluxe French Balcony stateroom.

Three New Mystery Cruises

Due to popular demand, Uniworld will offer three Mystery Cruises in 2026, allowing more travelers the opportunity to participate in a thrilling surprise adventure. With two cruises departing April 26 and one departing May 3, guests can book now to secure their preferred date. The April Mystery Cruise is also the second leg of the 50-night 2026 ‘Rivers of the World’ cruise.

A 50-Night ‘Rivers of the World’ Adventure

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Uniworld will host its third ‘Rivers of the World’ cruise in 2026 for a fitting 50 nights, offering travelers an exclusive adventure across three continents. Departing on April 16, 2026, the journey will begin on the S.S. Emilie, making guests of the ‘Rivers of the World’ cruise some of the first passengers to experience the new Super Ship.

The journey begins in the city of Brussels, where guests will sail to Amsterdam, before joining a Mystery Cruise to experience a surprise destination. Following the Mystery Cruise, guests will board the S.S. Joie de Vivre in Paris for a French river cruise along the Seine, with stops throughout the heart of both the city and the countryside, before taking a first-class train to Lyon.

There, passengers will sail to Avignon aboard the S.S. Catherine before enjoying a few nights in the quaint Mediterranean fishing port of Cassis. Guests will then fly to Cairo for five nights at a luxury hotel and then sail the iconic Nile River onboard the S.S. Sphinx for an immersive adventure throughout Egypt, including a trip to Abu Simbel exclusively for the world cruisers and a visit to the much-anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). The final leg of the journey will be spent in Jordan, where guests will visit iconic spots like Petra and the Dead Sea.

New Generations Collection Sailing

Uniworld will offer a Generations Collection sailing on the July 19 and July 26 departures of the Burgundy & Provence itinerary. Generations Collection sailings are designed with families in mind, featuring an array of activities, amenities and excursions tailored specifically for children. In addition to a lounge just for young travelers, the Generations sailings have two family hosts on board who organize kid-centric dining options and special social events like movie nights.

Additional New European Offerings

In 2026, Uniworld will launch additional itineraries throughout Europe, including three Danube itineraries on the brand-new S.S. Emilie. These trips combine a cruise with land stays, which are available to book as a cruise-only itinerary. Across all European itineraries, Uniworld guests will also enjoy a new ‘Black & White Party’ where passengers will dress in their best black and/or white attire for an evening filled with music, dancing and magical lights.

• Vineyards & Palaces Along the Danube: Over the course of 10 days, travelers will be immersed in the sights and sounds of the Danube aboard the S.S Emilie. Guests can marvel at imperial palaces in the city, explore wine vineyards in the countryside and traverse the forest in Germany’s first national park. This trip ends with a 5-star stay at a hotel in the heart of Prague.

• Vienna & Capital Cities of the Danube: Designed for city lovers, this 10-day journey allows travelers to enjoy the hustle and bustle of four iconic capitals of the Danube. Beginning with a luxurious hotel stay in Vienna, guests will then make their way to the equally charming and magnificent cities of Budapest, Belgrade, and Bratislava. Complete with Medieval history, grand architecture and aweinspiring art, this trip offers endless opportunities for exploration.

• Danube Grandeur & Prague: An itinerary that combines the Capital Cities of the Danube and Vineyards & Palaces Along the Danube with Prague, this epic 17-day journey traverses seven European countries for the ultimate Danube experience.

• Grand Highlights of Italy & Slovenia and Slovenia, Venice & the Jewels of Veneto: In 2026, guests of Uniworld will have more opportunities to revel in the beauty of Slovenia, with the city being added to multiple itineraries in Italy onboard the S.S. La Venezia.

Uniworld Announces Three New Super Ships Will Join Fleet In 2027

Luxury River Cruise Line’s Fleet to Expand and Consist of All Trademark Super Ships

LOS ANGELES – March 3, 2024 – Uniworld Boutique River Cruises announces the addition of three new Super Ships to its fleet, set to debut in 2027. The ships will be brand new builds, featuring lavish designs inspired by the destinations they sail through, and will complete Uniworld’s transformation to an all-Super Ship fleet. Uniworld’s trademark Super Ships are the pinnacle of luxury, with grand design elements using only the highest quality materials like custom fabrics, hand-carved wood and marble floors. Onboard all Super Ships, guests will find original artwork at every corner, most specially commissioned for the ship or by famed artists; and more space, including additional suites and dining venues, and ultra-luxurious amenities. All three new vessels will sail throughout Europe, cruising the Rhine, Main, Danube and Douro rivers.

“2027 will mark an extraordinary milestone for Uniworld as we complete our transformation into a fully Super Ship fleet with the addition of three incredible new builds,” says Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises. “Our focus has never been on simply adding more ships, but on continually raising the bar on the luxury river cruise experience. These new vessels will embody our unwavering commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, delivering something truly unparalleled for our valued guests – where no detail is too small.”

The three new ships will join other recent Super Ships including the S.S. Emilie, debuting in 2026; the S.S. Elisabeth, debuting in 2025; and the S.S. Victoria, which set sail in 2024 – all in Europe – expanding the line’s fleet size by over 10% since 2020. Uniworld ships are the most extraordinary vessels on the rivers, all one-of-a-kind floating boutique hotels with curated artwork, custom decor to bring the destination to life onboard, and furniture of the highest quality.

Similar to the S.S. Emilie, which is inspired by renowned Austrian painter Gustav Klimt and named after his life partner and muse, Emilie Flöge, the new builds will be inspired by prominent figures with strong connections to the regions sailed. The new ships will follow the same design approach, each with its own unique inspiration, look, and feel. Uniworld sailings are 5-star and all-inclusive, with impeccable service, farm-to-table cuisine and curated excursions, for a luxurious river cruising experience that can’t be found anywhere else.

More information about the ships and itineraries will be forthcoming. To learn more about Uniworld, visit https://www.uniworld.com/.

Uniworld Announces New Holiday Itinerary Along The Seine For 2025

Season

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises Announces What’s New for 2026, Including a New Ship, additional Mystery Cruises, and a 50-night Rivers of the World Journey.

LOS ANGELES – January 30, 2025 – Uniworld Boutique River Cruises announces the newest addition to its popular Holiday Collection for the 2025 season: the brand-new ‘Magical Parisian Holiday’ itinerary along the Seine. The seven-night holiday-themed journey will set sail roundtrip from Paris aboard the S.S. Joie de Vivre, taking guests to the French countryside during the most magical time of the year. During the cruise, guests will enjoy exclusive visits to decorated châteaus, festive French Christmas markets and curated shopping experiences.

“The holidays are such a special time for families and loved ones to come together, and France is truly one of the most spectacular backdrops for a festive getaway,” says Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld. “For the 2025 season, we’re thrilled for guests to experience this new addition to our Holiday Collection. It’s a fresh way to experience this magical season aboard a decked-out floating boutique hotel that immerses guests in French holiday traditions.”

The ‘Magical Parisian Holiday’ sailing begins in Paris, where guests will travel to Versailles for a private tour, including access to secret apartments typically closed to the public. The sailing will stop in various cities throughout the French countryside, with itinerary highlights including a walking tour of Rouen, home to Monet’s studio; a visit to the Normandy Cider Farm; a private choral performance in Rouen Cathedral; and a ‘MAKE TRAVEL MATTER’ experience with a local family working to preserve a traditional style of broom weaving. Other standouts include a private reception at Château de Bizy and an exclusive Uniworld-only event at Château le Vaux le Vicomte, the inspiration for Versailles. No holiday-themed itinerary is complete without visits to Europe’s iconic Christmas Markets, and Uniworld guests will explore various markets in Paris and the countryside where they can sample vin chaud (French mulled wine) and browse Christmas decorations, regional produce and specialties from all over the country.

Guests will call the S.S. Joie de Vivre home for the week, designed to bring French culture and 20thcentury Parisian design to life via antiques, original artwork and distinctive accents. This Super Ship can accommodate up to 128 guests and includes a spa and wellness center, bar and entertainment venue, Parisian-style ‘sidewalk café’ and a show kitchen, where guests can pre-book a time to prepare a sevencourse meal under the guidance of Uniworld’s chef. For this special holiday sailing, guests can look forward to festive decor, cuisine and drinks onboard the ship, creating an idyllic Christmas ambiance. Like all Uniworld cruises, this sailing is inclusive of all meals, beverages and excursions outside of Masterpiece Collection options.

The ‘Magical Parisian Holiday’ sailing joins a growing list of new offerings for 2025, including six additional European itineraries, themed voyages such as the ‘Women-Only Cruise,’ the inaugural sailing of the S.S. Elisabeth and more. The itinerary will have four departures in both 2025 and 2026, beginning in November to coincide with the holiday season. River Duchess - Tulips & Windmills

“This is my fourth cruise with uniworld. In all these times, you always impressed me with how the excursions were well organized as well as the professionalism of the tour guides. The staff and the crew were always polite, respectful and a delight to see their cheerful faces in the hallway. Special mention to Georgi who was always pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Martin, Costin and Norbert were impeccable in all the times that they accommodated me during my meals. Szimonetta is so pleasant and friendly, a true gem in the front desk. Thank you Rik for your patience in resolving my inquiry in finding out how I can purchase stuff on Martin Garrix, appreciate it very much! Thank you uniworld for another wonderful and unforgettable cruise experience!!!! “ - Maria -

“Our trip on the Joie de Vevre, went above and beyond our expectations. Tania the excursion planner worked very hard to explain, accommodate and take care of all of the needs of the passengers. Sophia, Yasmin, Alina all took excellent care of us in the dining room, the Sommelier was attentive and extremely knowledgeable about wines. The housekeeping team was superb. There were such attention to detail, for example the hotel manager was there with members of the crew waiting for us on the dock with umbrellas on a rainy day. There were fun and entertaining activities planned for after dinner and throughout the day. Honestly, we were never bored. Will definitely want to return for another cruise on Uniworld. “ - Alejandro -

Recipe of the Month

Gibanica, Cheese Roll Pie

INGREDIENTS

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened | 9 large eggs | 2 1/2 pounds large-curd cottage cheese | 1/2 pound feta cheese, crumbled |1 pound filo dough, thawed according to package directions | 8 ounces (1 cup) unsalted butter, melted

1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add 3 eggs at a time, beating well after each addition. Add cottage cheese and feta cheese and mix well. Set aside.

2. Heat oven to 350 F. Fold two sheets of filo dough in half and place in a lightly buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.

3. Lightly brush the filo with melted butter. Spread with about 1/2 cup filling. Continue in this manner until all but three sheets of filo are left.

4. Top with last three sheets of filo and brush with remaining butter.

5. Place pan on a rimmed baking sheet to catch any drips and bake about 1 hour or until golden.

6. Let sit 15 to 20 minutes before cutting into squares and serving warm.

• If feta is not your favorite cheese, it can be eliminated and made with cottage cheese and sour cream only. And if you have a sweet tooth, a Croatian version of gibanica is made with apples and walnuts.

• Another similar recipe that features buttered layers of filo dough is Serbian burek which can be filled with cheese, meat or spinach.

• Bulgarians also have a savory rolled version filled with feta cheese and yogurt, and a sweet version (typically with pumpkin filling) that are called banitza or banitsa.
