London Bridge is Falling Down: movement activity

London Bridge is Falling Down is a fun movement activity for a group of four or more. Two players stand across from one another and make a bridge with their arms raised in an arch. The other players go under the bridge while every one sings,

"London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down London Bridge is falling down, my fair lady"

After the last part of the song, the two "bridge" players lower their arms to trap the player currently passing through. The "caught" player then stands aside. Repeat until all players have been caught.

Lyrics to additional verses include "build it up with sticks and stones," "sticks and stones will all fall down," "build it up with wood and clay," "wood and clay will wash away," ""build it up with iron and steel," "iron and steel will bend and break," etc. At Tiny Tots, we built our orchestra up with “lots of strings, brass, winds, and drums” (percussion), which make up the four instrument families of the orchestra!
