The Season of Giving Grateful for the power of community

As the holidays approach, we’re reminded that this truly is the season of giving. It’s a time for gratitude, generosity and looking out for one another — and at South Central Arkansas Electric, that’s something we take to heart all year long.

We talk often about our Concern for Community, but it’s more than just words. It’s one of the core principles that sets cooperatives like ours apart. We’re not only here to keep the lights on (though, of course, we’re always working hard to do that). We’re here to make life brighter for the members, neighbors and friends we serve.

Over the years, we’ve faced challenges together, and every time, our co-op family has stepped up. We’ve come together to support those in need, to strengthen our communities and to invest in a better future. That spirit of generosity is never more evident than during the holiday season.

This year, we’re especially thankful for our members — because without you, none of this would be possible. Your participation, engagement and support allow us to:

•Provide scholarships and leadership opportunities, including the POWERful Youth program and Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.

•Support local foster families with Thanksgiving meals, ensuring every family can gather around the table.

•Host school visits, demonstrations and safety programs that spark learning for students of all ages.

•Volunteer our time and energy at community events, youth sports and local fundraisers — because giving back is at the heart of who we are.

While the holiday season is joyful, we also know it can be challenging. That’s why we’re here to help with energy-saving advice, flexible payment options and the support you need. Helping our members isn’t just what we do during the holidays — it’s what we do in every season.

At South Central Arkansas Electric, we believe generosity is more than a value — it’s the heart of who we are. And during this season of giving, we’re proud — and thankful — to be part of such a caring, connected community.
