C & L Electric Cooperative

Two C & L Directors Elected C & L Electric Cooperative members elected two directors to the system’s board by mail ballot at the annual membership meeting on June 17. Keith Griffin, of Star City, and William “Bubba” Humphrey, of Jefferson County, were each re-elected to serve a 5-year term.

Keith Griffin, a lifelong resident of Star City has been a director of C & L Electric for 11 years, representing the cooperative members in Star City since 2010. During that time, he has served as secretary-treasurer and vice-president of the board of directors and has earned a Director Gold level as well as his Credentialed Cooperative Director and Board Leadership Certificates.

Keith is a 1976 graduate of Star City High School. He attended Arkansas State University, University of Central Arkansas and graduated from Dallas School of Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas, serving as class president. In 2006, Keith was inducted into the American Legion Boys’ State Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in business. He has served on several state and area boards and is very active in the chamber of commerce, serving twice as president and being recognized as man of the year. Keith is married to Jennifer French Griffin and is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Star City.

William “Bubba” Humphrey, was re-elected to represent Jefferson County cooperative members. He graduated from Star City High School in 1990, and then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-Business from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1994.

Bubba, who has lived in Jefferson County more than 20 years, is the owner of Humphrey Painting & Gutterworks.

He and his wife Leslie have one daughter, Hannah who is married to Sawyer Moix from Conway. Bubba and Leslie currently attend Summit Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
