ENERGY EFFICIENCY TIP OF THE MONTH
Fall is here! Make sure your home is prepared as cooler temperatures start to set in. Check for any potential air leaks around doors, windows and electrical outlets. Seal leaks with caulk or weatherstripping to keep air from leaking into your home.

Ingredients: 1 ½ c. all-purpose flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. kosher salt 1 tsp. cinnamon ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg ¼ tsp. ground ginger
Pumpkin Pancakes 1 c. milk 2 large eggs 1 c. pumpkin puree 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract 2 tbsp. packed light brown sugar Butter, for cooking
Directions: In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. In a separate bowl, whisk milk and pumpkin. Add eggs and stir in vanilla. Next, add wet ingredients to dry and stir with a wooden spoon until combined. Melt butter in a nonstick skillet on medium. When butter is foamy, reduce heat to medium-low and ladle in batter. Cook until bubbles form in batter and it is golden underneath. Flip and cook other side until golden. Repeat with remaining batter.

Rising natural gas prices impacting rates
Natural gas prices are rising and sources indicate costs will continue to increase throughout the winter months. Our power supplier has historically hedged natural gas purchases whenever possible to help lessen the impact of these cost increases; however, costs are now escalating at a pace that has made it necessary for them to implement a wholesale power rate increase. Your cooperative is unable to absorb the cost of this increase, so we in turn must pass along this added cost to our members. Beginning with all bills received after September 26, 2022, our members will see an increase of $7 per 1,000 kWh.
