The Sausage Competition is Back For those of you who don’t know, Local sausage producers are all revved up and ready to enter the Taste Cheshire Sausage Competition 2022.

Entries are submitted in both the plain and flavoured categories and the initial judging will take place by a panel of sausage experts on 22nd February at the NOWFood Centre, Part of the University of Chester.

The final 6 sausages will be judged on Easter Sunday at the Taste Cheshire Food and Drink festival at 11.00am. The first forty people who arrive will be given judging sheets and their decisions, based on appearance, texture and taste will see the crowning of this year’s champions.

Whatever the outcome we know Cheshire makes outstanding sausages and every year they seem to get better and better.

Our sausage makers strive for the perfect sausage of that there is no doubt.

Home is where the art is Dave & Lise Roberts have turned their love of art into an exciting venture by opening a new contemporary art and craft gallery at their fine country house home in North Wales. It opens Easter Saturday at Glasfryn Hall in the historic town of Caerwys, North Wales.

The only independent art gallery in North East Wales, Oriel Glasfryn Gallery will showcase work by the finest artists and makers from Wales.

All mediums will be represented including painting, jewellery, ceramics, sculpture, glass, textiles, wood and metalwork.

There are two spaces. A purpose-built contemporary gallery (converted from the Hall’s former cart shed) which will accommodate the work of around 40 artists at any one time and will be open all year.

Glasfryn Hall itself will be opened during the summer and winter months for special exhibitions, allowing even more artists to be represented, this time in the much more domestic and intimate setting of a family home.

All capped off with the most stunning views of the Clwydian Hills.

Dave and Lise moved to Glasfryn Hall three years ago with the express purpose of running it both as a family home and a ‘cultural’ arts destination.

Dave gave up his full-time job as Chief Executive of a London-based charity to pursue his dream of becoming a fulltime artist four years ago. Oriel Glasfryn Gallery takes the couple’s vision for promoting Welsh art to the next level.

Dave specialises in pastel paintings of Snowdonia and North Wales and Oriel Glasfryn Gallery will house a permanent display of his increasingly popular and collectable work.

‘We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from the artist community, and it is a real honour to have the opportunity to showcase their

work, we feel like we are the custodians of some really special items and it’s a pleasure to share that with visitors” said the couple.

The Simple Mirror Will: Should it be that Simple?

By Emily Littlehales, Celtic Law Ltd This is my first article in a publication like this, so I hope you will bear with me as I find my feet.

I thought I would start us off with a note about Wills.

Wills are very personal and one size will not fit all, hence why it is important to get it right.

When I meet with my clients to discuss their Wills, I ask ‘how do you see your Will working?’ or ‘What do you want to happen?’

Most will respond with ‘we want everything to go to one another, and then to our children when we both die’.

This is the classic Simple Mirror Will. Though it is seemingly popular, and it is the first Will Structure that will spring to mind during our initial chats - it may surprise you that I don’t do many Simple Wills.

Clients frequently express concern about the following: • What would happen if one of us go into care?

• What about children from a previous relationship? How can I guarantee their inheritance?

• What if the survivor remarries?

Will the new spouse inherit from me too?

If like many of my clients, you are concerned with any of the above then a Simple Will may not be the best option.

A conversation about Wills is the starting point of making sure that your lifetime wealth is protected in the right way - for the right people.

This may involve using a Trust in your Will.

We want to strike a balance between protecting you and protecting your assets for the next generation. It also needs to be done in the safest possible way so that it does not leave you vulnerable. This is what a Will Trust can do, and this is what we are here to help you with at Celtic Law Ltd.
