Proposal to Update – GRI Systems and Tools (2022 Edition)

February 24, 2022

Statement of Need In technology-oriented designation courses REALTORs® expect to receive the most upto-date education available. Today, using the latest tools and applications can be a game-changer, enabling real estate professionals to streamline their tasks and better serve their clients. From digital open houses to Artificial Intelligence platforms, new technologies are accelerating the pace of business and taking the industry by storm. The current GRI Systems and Tools course designed in 2016 has become outdated and in need of a major refresh. Since its original design, many new services and platforms have emerged that are either briefly mentioned or not covered in the existing course. For instance, the use of short form video has exploded in popularity on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. In addition, new tools that streamline processes for agents should be covered in more detail. With tech-savvy Millennials representing the largest group of homebuyers,* it’s more important than ever that the current course reflect evolving trends so that GRI System and Tools students are better prepared to meet the technological challenges ahead. This proposal covers the following: 1. Content Changes - Removals and Updates 2. Proposed Implementation (Workflow) a. Time Needed 3. Estimated Time for Implementation 4. Deliverables and Fees

2 Proposal to Update – GRI Systems and Tools (2022 Edition)

1.0 Content Changes - Removals and Updates Module 1 – Building Your Business This module addresses critical necessities needed to build solid foundation for your real estate business. Students learn about tools they need to jumpstart or strengthen their online presence. Within this segment, there are opportunities to update or remove items completely. Specific Content Removals | Updates Updates and Additions: ➢ ➢ ➢ ➢ ➢

Database and CRM tools (Scratch from Module 5 and include in this module) Website must-have tools (i.e. chatbots) Prospecting Tools and Strategies Change the Class Activity – Exemplary Real Estate Websites (Evaluation) Discussion from Interviews with Top Producers in Georgia (“Wish I had…)

Content to Remove: ➢ Online Business Cards o About.me ➢ City-Data – How to Use it and Why ➢ Importance of a Mobile Friendly Website Design ➢ The Google Mobile Test ➢ Trulia/Zillow

3 Proposal to Update – GRI Systems and Tools (2022 Edition)

Module 2 – Social Media to Connect to Clients This module addresses how to use social media platforms to connect to potential homebuyers and sellers. The current course covers several different social media platforms on a high level, but only takes a deep dive into Facebook. Updates and Additions: ➢ Add TikTok to the list of mentions ➢ Reduce the time spent of Pinterest and Twitter. Instead focus on the top 3 social media platforms, based on monthly active users(MAUs)—Facebook, Instagram and YouTube (Module 5). ➢ Include new apps and features associated with the top three mentioned above. For instance, Facebook has created new apps since 2016—Creator Studio and Business Suite. Instagram has created IGTV and Reels, and YouTube has added “Shorts.” ➢ With 77% of all real estate professionals using Facebook, it begs the question—How will the Metaverse impact real estate transactions? Add as a discussion item (Townhall) ➢ Provide strong examples of REALTORs® crushing the top 3. Content to Remove: ➢ Significantly reduce the amount of instruction time on the least popular platforms, spending more time on the nuances and algorithm changes of the others.

Module 3 – Platforms and Applications to Enhance Productivity This module was originally developed to improve an agent’s workflow and enhance their productivity. For this reason we included cloud-based tools such as Dropbox and Docu-sign that are now commonplace in the industry. Each brokerage has its own preference when it comes to document signing and cloud storage options, making this discussion of lesser importance to all agents. Recommendation: Change this module by adding more valuable content around Google’s latest offerings and more robust topics such Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. What does AI mean for real estate professionals and what this means for real estate pros? Or, with inventory shortages and threats of another variant of the coronavirus, what is the best way to hold a meeting with an out-of-town buyer via virtual software solutions such as Zoom or Google Meet? Updates and Additions: ➢ Digital Open Houses Using Virtual Software Tools (i.e. Zoom) ➢ The Best AI Real Estate Solutions ➢ The Latest Offerings on the Google Platform (i.e., Screening) 4 Proposal to Update – GRI Systems and Tools (2022 Edition)

➢ Leave but Update other productivity solutions such as Evernote vs Google Keep apps. Content to Remove: ➢ Google and iOS Platform ➢ Managing the Transaction ➢ Dot Loop and other transaction software Possibly remove or reduce time spent on: MLS, IDX, and VOW (Explanation and Features)

Module 4 - Internet Advertising As the title of this module states, this module focuses on advertising. In 2016, paid advertising on platforms like Zillow were more popular among REALTORs®. Today there are more effective options for online advertising, making this module in major need of restructuring. Recommendation – Rework this module. Updates and Additions: ➢ AdWords vs Google YouTube “Local” Video Ads vs Facebook Ads o Which one gives you a better return on your investment? o Show Examples ➢ Facebook Advertising – Update! ➢ Instagram and Facebook Ads Based on Today’s options ➢ Examples of REALTOR® Success in the Advertising Space Content to Remove: ➢ Zillow Ad Discussion ➢ The Old Case Study Lauren Gregg ➢ Yahoo Ads - Remove

Module 5 - Marketing Tips and Tools As the title states, this last module focuses on marketing your real estate services to the public and to your network. As you will see from the suggestions below, more video content is highly recommended. Updates and Additions: ➢ Marketing Tips to Reflect Current Marketing Trends – Video #Shorts ➢ Using an app like Canva for easy thumbnails and headers ➢ Equipment Needed for Short and Long Videos ➢ Video Content Ideas ➢ Planning Your Content 5 Proposal to Update – GRI Systems and Tools (2022 Edition)
