InLiquid is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 1999 to mobilize Philadelphia’s visual arts community to become economically viable, and to make the work of Philadelphia’s dynamic visual arts community accessible to all.

InLiquid creates opportunities for artists, unites communities, establishes new audiences, fosters new artists, facilitates new collectors and advocates for public appreciation of art. Increasingly, we find ourselves creating opportunities to use art as a catalyst for civic engagement and expressions of calls for social change.

We stage free public exhibitions for Philadelphia artists at our own InLiquid Gallery in Kensington and satellite exhibition spaces all over the city, and run InLiquid.org as a free public online platform for artists, virtual store and comprehensive source for art programming around the region.

Mission Statement InLiquid mobilizes and makes accessible the visual arts culture of the greater Philadelphia region in order to unite communities, establish wider audiences for artists and designers, facilitate the relationship between artists and collectors, and nurture the public’s appreciation of all forms of visual art.

Dianne Koppisch Hricko is a printmaker and painter currently working with dyes on fabrics and paper. She employs deconstructed silk screening, direct painting, discharge and shibori to produce both yardage and images. She exploits the layered transparency possible in this medium building rich and ambiguous surface.

Color has always been a driving force in her work. Dianne maintains a studio in the Crane Arts building, lives in Philadelphia with the printmaker Richard Hricko and teaches at the University of the Arts, Tyler School of Art and Fleisher Art Memorial.

“Beauty, mystery, and power exist within color. I strive as an artist to make these qualities visible by working intuitively building texture and pattern combined with a translucent depth, embracing the surprise of the unexpected.

I strive to find satisfying compositions working abstractly with geometric shapes and color harmonies. I approach dyeing as painting, but unlike paint, dye colors do not fully reveal themselves until the image is washed, requiring both intuition and faith to match my vision to the final result. Christoper Poehlmann, creator of CP Lighting, has been making the world his own since high school where he couldn’t help but customize his personal wardrobe.

Distracted in his pre-med days by an introduction to and following obsession with mid-century modern furniture and design, he decisively changed course from studies and lab work to sheet metal and studio time.

Though still heavily invested in American craft furniture, lighting design is where Christopher’s creativity blooms.

Well known for reinterpreting tree and wood motifs through metal and plastic, he is also a master at repurposing and reusing industrial materials that have been cast aside. The resulting conglomeration of junk and wire transforms into a body of work that blends playful levity with enchanting elegance

InLiquid’s Annual Benefit is both a fabulous social happening and a showcase for the works of the region’s premier visual artists. The major features of our party are the array of art, gift certificates, jewelry, and design items available in a silent auction.

Art for the Cash Poor

InLiquid’s Art for the Cash Poor is an annual summer sale that operates under the premise that everyone can be an art collector. In 1999, the event began as an exposition of quality work at affordable prices, with everything from jewelry, paintings, photography, fashion, and ceramic ware priced at $199 and under.

Sculpture in the Glen

IInLiquid presents Sculpture in the Glen: an immersive outdoor sculpture garden introducing over two dozen works by local sculptors into the lush landscape of the glen, a 4-acre parcel along Mill Creek in Gladwyne, PA.
