2nd G1 Coolmore Classic, 1500m, Rosehill, beaten 0.3 lengths by Zougotcha, beating 15 rivals including Kimochi, Tropical Squall, Hinged, Revolutionary Miss, Deny Knowledge, Madame Pommery etc.
2nd G1 Tatt’s Tiara, 1400m, Eagle Farm, beaten a length by Bella Nipotina, defeating 15 rivals including Bubble Rock, Roll On High, Roots, Lekvarte, Vienna Princess C’est Magique, Opal Ridge etc
3rd G1 Queen Of The Turf, 1600m, Randwick, beaten 1.3 lengths by Zougotcha and Atishu, defeating Makarena, Ruthless Dame, Tropical Squall, Olentia, Campionessa, Madame Pommery etc.
4th G1 Winx Stakes, 1400m, Randwick, beaten 1.3 lengths by Via Sistina, Zougotcha and Fangirl, defeating Zardozi, Riff Rocket, Buckaroo, Atishu, Tropical Squall etc.
A Mare with Racing Upside
As a 5YO who has made just 25 starts, she still looks to have racing upside.
In Australia in recent years, there have been a host of mares who have produced their very best form as older mares including G1 winners like Via Sistina (aged 7), Fangirl (6), Atishu (7), Bella Nipotina (7), Deny Knowledge (7), Pride Of Jenni (6), Mariamia (6), Roch ‘N’ Horse (6), Snapdancer 6) etc.
During the 2024/25 Australian Racing season, there were 34 races worth $1m or more for which Semana was eligible to run in, which, assuming the retention of the existing racing calendar for the 2025/26 season, means that there will be an abundance of options for her again next season!
A Daughter of a high-achieving Mare
Semana is the most accomplished runner of over 210 runners by her sire. She is also the second highest-priced yearling filly ever sold by her sire at $200,000.
Her half sister, the Stakes winner Gala Queen (Deep Field), looks hugely talented and broke the track record when winning the Listed Morphettville Guineas at her penultimate start.
Festivity is the dam of the highest-priced Farnan yearling sold in 2025, a colt who realised $750,000 to the bid of James Harron/Tony Fung at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in January. She has a weanling colt by the same sire and was covered by champion sire I Am Invincible in 2024.
