KOALA RESCUE AND REHAB

In 2020, the Zoo’s Queensland koala residents, Katherine and Oz, helped localize the story of the Australian bushfires that ravaged the natural habitats of their wild cousins. Palm Beach Zoo provided emergency funds to rescue koalas and other wildlife in Australia affected by the wildfires. One dollar of every paid general admission ticket and all of the proceeds from the Zoo’s popular Koala Experience were directed to rescue and rehabilitate Australian wildlife. The Zoo collected funds online that were directed to the Zoos Victoria Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund.
