In fact, the human body is designed to experience stress and react to it. Stress responses help your body adjust to new situations. Stress can be positive, keeping us alert, motivated and ready to avoid danger. But stress becomes a problem when stressors continue without relief or periods of relaxation.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BODY DURING STRESS? The body’s autonomic nervous system controls your heart rate, breathing, vision changes and more. Its built-in stress response, the “fight-or-flight response,” helps the body face stressful situations.

When a person has long-term (chronic) stress, continued activation of the stress response causes wear and tear on the body. Physical, emotional and behavioral symptoms develop.

FUNDRAISING FOR THE GROYNE FIELD IN ST FRANCIS BAY CRESTS R100M Thanks to the unwavering support of our community, we are on the brink of realizing the 'Long Term Coastal Protection Solution' project in St. Francis Bay. This significant initiative, aimed at restoring the River, Spit, and Beach areas, has now surpassed R100 M in funding, a testament to our collective effort and commitment.

Phases 1 and 2 of the Groyne field project, with an estimated cost of R110M, are poised to commence construction shortly.

While we have made significant strides with the SRA levy, donations, and loans from our local homeowners and residents, we still need your help. Your contributions are crucial for the ultimate success of this project. We urge you to assist in securing extra funding beyond the SRA levy, ensuring the restoration of our beloved St. Francis Bay beaches to their former glory.
