alloween also known as All Hallows' Eve, is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows (or All Saints) and the day initiating the triduum of Hallowmas, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers. Halloween is known and loved today as a time to wear costumes, going door to door asking for candy, and watching monster movies!

This year’s Halloween lands on a Monday, but that doesn't mean you should wait until the last minute to buy or reserve your costume. This year's most popular costumes are selling out fast!

Every year, we look forward to all of the new Halloween costumes. There are so many new Halloween costumes for kids. After all, trick-or-treating is one of their favourite holiday traditions so they should have comfortable, quality costumes to wear.

This year, expect to see the usual ghosts and goblins on Halloween — but also, Pokemon players and superheroes. Superhero and Star Wars costumes are topping its sales with the exception of Paw Patrol characters climbing to the No. 1 spot for toddlers. Of course, don't discount the classics. Scooby Doo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Minnie Mouse, Monster High and Ariel from The Little Mermaid are still popular with kids. The retailer also said animal costumes (lamb, elephant, bear, lion) are also still a top seller among babies.

Teenagers love going to Halloween costume parties and are also very concerned with the latest trends. For

them, Game of Thrones characters, Harley Quinn (Suicide Squad) is showing up on several top lists. Also, Clowns and Pirates of the Caribbean offer styles for teens that are timely and as well as cool.

Halloween costumes for adults...

Some people think that Halloween costumes are just for kids but that is not true at all. Stores sell just as many adult costumes as children's costumes! Halloween parties are something very popular for adults... those who have not yet gotten their costume may want to consider renting an outfit instead of buying one. Looking for a spooky Halloween costume? Maybe you’d prefer something a little more sexy and daring? From clowns, witches, ghosts and goblins to monsters, maids, and pirates, check out your local rental costume shop for the perfect fit!

Need supplies for your Halloween party? Bring the room to life with balloon bouquets and centrepieces, wall decorations and spooky stuff... Creative food and drinks like Bloody red punch with a floating hand made out of ice is a great way to add a real festive touch! Don’t forget to organize the best costume contest... Turn your celebration into a memorable event.

While it's safer for our cats live indoors permanently, this holds especially true during the 'witching month'.

-Cats have long been associated with superstition, witches and bad, Hollywood fright-movies. Some believe that cats are witches 'familiars' or even tiny witches themselves! For centuries, they've been trapped, stolen and tortured in the name of 'sacrifice', satanic ritual, or just plain cruelty. Animal abusers think Halloween gives them a 'pass' to torture again. Don't let them!

Keep all your cats indoors during this risky time, not just the black-coloured ones!

-Many humane societies have extended their 'no cat adoptions' in the weeks leading up to Halloween to not only black cats, but ALL cats. Please, don't give depraved individuals turned away at humane societies, the opportunity to find and then do such with your pet. They can cause severe, sometimes fatal, internal damage if ingested. Remember, these warnings also apply to pets such as rabbits, ferrets, parrots, and rodents which notoriously, are attracted to shiny objects.

-Keep all locations of stashed candy safely away from pets! This includes the Children's hidden haul of the night. Halloween treats from the neighbours hold a bounty of irresistible new smells and tastes for pets.

So expect they too, will be on the hunt for candy that night. Especially harmful, (potentially deadly!) are chocolates and sugar-free goodies made with Xylitol.

If your pet begins drooling, foaming at the mouth and/or suddenly behaves irrationally, it's unlikely he's been bitten by the un-dead or has developed instant rabies. It is more likely that he has just punctured and ingested the liquid from one of the most popular items on a Halloween night, 'The Glow Stick.' While most claim to be non-toxic, this doesn't mean that your pet won't get sick from contents. Take your pet to a darkened room and if he is glowing in and around the mouth and paws (seriously!) this is a tell-tale sign. Immediately wash off these areas and flush his mouth. Give some milk, or another treat to get rid of the bitter taste and nausea. If he didn't puncture a glow stick, it may be a more serious poisoning.

Sure, you might think it's adorable, but please resist the urge to dress up your pets in silly, frilly, jangly costumes, (except for that 10-second photo-op!) especially if you aren't watching your pet every second while he's wearing it. Not only is it stressful for most pets to be forced to wear tulle and spandex, but as most women know, it's physically uncomfortable.

It restricts movement, pinches and some elastic parts can impair blood circulation and/or breathing. Leave the dressing-up to you and the kids.

At least, humans can tell you where it hurts.

Use flame-less candles and tea-lights rather than open-flamed wax candles to light your pumpkin, and/or for eerie effect. Pets, especially cats, have been known to literally catch themselves, or their homes on fire when getting too close and/or knocking over these dangerous items.

Many people think the extra ruckus of people will freak their pet out and want to give them a sedative. Many pets have seriously negative reactions to sedatives. Use one of the 'flower essences' such as Bach's Pet's Rescue Remedy if you must, instead.

Finally, Halloween is a time-honoured holiday and very enjoyable for kids and adults alike. Let's keep it fun and SAFE for our furry, feathered and scaly family members as well! ~~

It's OK to Experience the Sting of a Truthful Feeling

Recently, I was disappointed by someone I trusted. A bitter pill to swallow, as I had indeed thrown my heart over the bar, and put my full faith in them. But how does a Lightworker deal with a betrayal? At the time, I must say, it didn't help when all around me tried to comfort me with the old adage, 'everything happens for a reason.' No. I was angry and didn't need to hear that. I already knew that! What I wanted was to vent my pain and frustration inside the cold, and dark, harsh truth of the betrayal I had endured.

Only from that place of pain, would I be able to fully perceive it, release, let go and then grow!

The lesson here was not to gloss over or pretend what had happened to me, did not cause me deep pain.

Nor, was I seeking the sympathy of a pat on the shoulder and receival of a, 'there, there, everything will be alright.' No, that's not what I needed then, at all! Because even as an 'enlightened' human, at times, you will still get pooped upon, and it's OK to be angry.

We know from Matthew 21: 21-13 that even Jesus got angry enough to over turn tables, and deliver his full wrath upon the money changers at the Temple court! Where even for Him, in his mortal, human form, once experienced such pain and anger that, 'turning the other cheek' became more like a brief (and perhaps not so shining) moment of; 'kiss my ***!'

All this to say, it's OK to fully experience the sting of a valid feeling. As it is through our feelings, that we learn and we grow. ~Experience~ This, is why we came here!

The difference between a healthy venting and a festering anger is, like Jesus, you don't wallow forever in misery. You have your experience, you learn, grow, and move on!
