The Pet Lovers Summer Checklist

f you are a pet lover like me, you are appalled when you see an animal suffering. However, pets all over the world are suffering at the hands of 'nice' people every day! Though you may not be able to help the suffering of an elephant or tiger being poached in Africa, save for signing a petition. You CAN save an animal right here at home!

If you see an animal in distress, please know, this is indeed a heavenly test for you. You have been brought to witness this scenario because YOU animal lover, are the 'answer to their prayer' who is walking by at just the right moment! Will you help the animal? (pass) or just walk right on by leaving the poor thing, citing 'minding your own business'? (fail) Either way, the angels tell me, this 'test' will NOT go unnoticed.

If you know someone who is not practising animal kindness as presented below, speak up and help!

Of course, your dog wants to go with you anywhere, at any time! He just doesn't know any better on a hot summer's day.

YOU DO! Use common sense. In these particular situations, be wise and leave your dog at home when appropriate. Keep him alive and safe in the pleasant air-conditioning with a large bowl of fresh, cool water. Otherwise...

You may kill your dog, even on a breezy, 21 Celsius (70F) summer's day, if you leave him alone in the car. Even if you crack open all four windows while you go on an errand, 'just for a couple of minutes.' Despite the breeze and cracked windows, temperature inside the car can increase 20 degrees in under 15 minutes.

A dog can suffer brain damage at 107F (41C) and die at 120F.(48C) It is against the law in Canada, to leave a pet unattended in a parked vehicle in a manner that endangers the health or safety of the animal.

If you see a pet in distress, in a parked car, take down the car description and license number. Report it to the store manager at once, to put out a PA announcement, or call 911. If action is not taken immediately, tell them your next call will be the MEDIA. If you enjoy taking your adult dog along with you while you jog, keep OFF hot

pavement! Choose the cooler, natural, jogging paths in the forest and shade. Be sensible. Just as with humans, get your dog a health check before you subject him to this rigorous, exercise program. Puppies must never be subjected to this manner of exercise; you can permanently damage their growing bones. Dogs must be neither too young nor old, in addition to being physically fit to begin jogging with you. If at any point, he begins lagging behind, STOP. Give him, a rest and some cool water to ensure he isn't overheating and suffering heat-stroke. Remember, your dog cools down by panting. If it's too hot outside, even if you think it isn't, if he is showing signs of distress, STOP! It is not safe, for your dog or for you, to attach him to your bicycle while you ride about town. This is a disaster waiting to happen! He can run in front of you, or even pull you into traffic causing a serious accident or at the very least, harm to himself. While you are enjoying the scenery, you may not notice that Fido is over-heating, or in distress in some other way.

Never tie your dog up next to a dumpster behind a depanneur, while you run in 'for a moment'...Aside from obvious risk of pet-theft, you are subjecting him to the potential of getting repeatedly stung by wasps and flies who frequent dumpsters.

When out walking your dog in the heat of summer, be very mindful of the sizzling pavement he has to walk on. While you are wearing shoes, he just has bare, paws.

Veterinarian offices are over-loaded in the summer-time with pets suffering from burned paw-pads by careless custodians who simply 'didn't realize' how hot it was for their pet's paws. Be smart! Furthermore, do not insist he 'sit' at every street corner as you will now be searing his private parts along with his paw-pads!

OUCH! Be Summer smart! If you see anyone being mindlessly cruel to their dog as in the descriptions above, please speak up!

At times, custodians don't realize the pain they are causing their pet and need to be enlightened.

Often, all it takes is a caring pet lover speaking up, to save a suffering pet. If you are reading this, YOU are that pet lover! ~~

The Angel of Awareness

T

his world spins awfully fast and with it, whirls an infinite amount of discombobulated thought-forms. As you splosh through your day, you are not only immersing yourself in a deep-pool of abstract musings from your own mind. Additionally, you're wallowing in an ocean of other people's thoughts which saturates the energy fields all around you.

In a simple form, do you remember a time, when you merrily walked into a store at the mall and then realized, you couldn't remember why you'd come? Then there's that other guy in the aisle next, not knowing why he's just picked up a package of 'Veggie Hot Dogs.'

How many times have you walked out of a store with something that wasn't even on your radar? Sure, that sale of 'Wombat Food' was terrific! But if you don't have a Wombat, that sale doesn't do you any good.

However, if you passed by the sale sign, and felt a strong urge to buy it anyway, you were in fact, picking up on the strong energies of the ecstatic Wombat owners, who had just been there.

Picking up the wrong thing from the store, is rather a small annoyance. However, these passive thought-forms can also affect us on a much larger scale. Such as, when we make decisions and plans for our lives.

How many times, have you gone ahead and done or said something completely out of character? Can you remember ever saying to yourself, 'Now why did I do or say that?' Have you ever experienced starting your day, happy as a Lark, then in walking past an arguing couple on the sidewalk, suddenly find yourself in a bad mood? Did you ever have a dream of taking a year off to 'Save the Orangutans' in Borneo? Only to end up spending that time mentally drifting, playing video games in your friend's basement? This is what can happen when you go out into the world, unaware and unprotected from incongruent energy fields around you.

How can you avoid all the extraneous slop from someone else's energy field, from interfering with your true purpose, desires, plans and intentions?

You can do this by becoming present, and calling in The Angel of Awareness! If asked, this angel will help you to become aware in the moment, and keep you mindful of your intentions. Humans have a way of drifting in and out of thought-forms, and not following through on desires or finishing up a well-formed plan. This happens when we haven't taken control of our own energy field.

When you are present, you are aware and in control of your own mind. You will be able to feel when thoughts which are incompatible to who you are, try to invade you. When you feel yourself straying off course, call upon The Angel of Awareness to keep you steady on your path.

Another opportunity to call upon The Angel of Awareness, is when you'd like someone else to become aware. For example, where someone is about to leave a pet or a child inside a hot car; call upon The Angel of Awareness to open their mind and bring enlightenment to the person/s responsible. So they may understand their actions are harmful and change their behaviour. If you feel the urge to be that vehicle the angel uses to help make that other person become aware, ask her to step in and help you say and do just the right things to really get through.

The Angel of Awareness is here and says: “Start your day, calling upon me! I will help you focus upon that which is your chosen direction, and keep you aware of your life's plan. I will clear your mind to connect with those who are in your life's path, and keep away extraneous thoughts from those that do not serve you. Call upon me when you desire to help open the minds of others to a higher vision and gentle course.� ~~
