Jessica Campbell, the owner/head maker of Campbell Creative, took a graphic design class as part of her Advertising course at Loyalist College in Belleville. She enjoyed ‘playing around’ in Photoshop and Illustrator, two programs synonymous with graphic design. Jessica received a “SPECIAL ADVERTISING AWARD for demonstrating the drive to be one of the future innovators, influencers and motivators in the Advertising Program.” Jessica graduated from the Advertising Program in 2005.

After a four month internship as a graphic designer at the Standard-Freeholder, Jessica was hired on full time. She not only worked on the newspaper ads, she also worked layout, pre-press, and had the opportunity to design special projects like the yearly Reader’s Choice Award plaques, and more.

After the Standard-Freeholder cut the graphic design department in 2008, Jessica, pregnant with her second child, decided to take some time off in order to care for her young family. She made custom invitations for family and friends in order to keep her skills sharp.

When Jessica decided that it was time to go back to work, she sent her resume to a local company - The Homefinder, established in 2004. After meeting with the owner and publisher, Jessica knew that working on their real estate newspaper would be a great fit for her, as she could work from home, all the while doing design projects for friends and family.

Jessica knew that not every person needs graphic design as a service, so she had the brilliant idea to print her designs onto greeting cards to start. Along with some handmade jewllery pieces, she decided to start selling her products at local craft and vendor shows. The response was encouraging.

Never one to sit still, Jessica researched printing methods, and equipment, and supplies. Always looking for new ways to customize products. After considering her options, she decided to buy some new equipment and start selling customized mugs, can coolers, pet tags, mousepads, tote bags, ornaments, and so much more.

Now, Jessica has a broad product offering when she attends local craft shows & events, and she even has her products in local retail stores, like The Maker Gift Shop at 145 Pitt Street in downtown Cornwall.

She also does wholesale orders for businesses, weddings, and events.

H

ow many ways did you feel joy in your life today? I'm talking about the kind of joy that floods your heart. It makes your eyes twinkle, and fills your nerve endings with tingles of glee, making your lips spread wide-open, exposing a toothy (or toothless, as the case may be) grin. Indeed, the kind of joy where suddenly the 30 extra pounds don't feel as heavy, aches and pains not so bad, and you understand that the wrinkles on your face, are alllll just 'laugh lines'...

You can find great jouissance in noticing many little, unremarkable experiences.

When you acknowledge how much joy there already is in your life, you tend to receive more of it! This shoots up your vibration and when you are in a higher vibration, you naturally attract many more joyful experiences into your life! What fun things, previously unacknowledged, could you notice around you, and add to the list below?

Observing a wild animal enjoy the warm, spring sun on their back. Eating something really tasty, that also happens to be good for you! Accomplishing any techie-thing. Hearing about a deserving friend finally catching a great break in their life. Beholding a sick animal finally taking a good turn back to health. Noticing ice-crystals glistening like diamonds in the snow on a moon-lit walk to your mail box. Sharing a moment of brilliant discovery with your pet or child, when they learn something, brand new.

Or how about, enjoying a deeply bonded feeling, when breaking bread with Loved Ones. Or watching a smile light up a strangers' face by complimenting them on something, anything! Realizing for the first time, that your child, has your eyes? Hearing an aged Parent's voice rise up, in song.
