Aims of the Programme NPQLTD develops the essential knowledge, skills, and concepts for leading teacher development. Participants cover key learning across: Teaching, designing and delivering professional development and implementation.
Create professionally confident leaders and teachers who work with shared clarity and consistency across the organisation. Improve the quality of teaching and learning over time, through structured, evidence-informed development. Equip staff to respond effectively to change, ensuring leadership decisions are thoughtful, timely, and impactful. Develop a team that actively evaluates and adapts practice, leading to meaningful improvements for pupils and staff. Ensure leadership capacity is sustained and grown, reducing reliance on individuals and building long-term organisational strength.
Target Audience Teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers, curriculum leads, mentors or trainees in their school. They may have responsibilities for the development of all teachers across a school or as a mentor for teachers who are early in their career.

Aims of the Programme This DfE guidance outlines the knowledge, skills, and behaviours developed through the NPQLL, covering: Teaching, language, reading, writing, professional development and implementation.
Target Audience The NPQLL is for Primary or Secondary teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading literacy across a year group, key stage phase or school.
