First Studio Project

This exercise goes beyond the mere physical boundaries of lines and boxes; it encapsulates the essence of spatial composition within an ‘envelope’.

Integrated within these envelopes is the influence of color theory, which not only defines the aesthetics but also infuses emotion, depth, and character into the spaces we create.

The Rift

This project focused on thorough site analysis, comprehensive diagramming, detailed sun diagrams, circulation analysis, and an in-depth exploration of design concepts. Students who are part of the ACE program at SAC currently do not have access to exclusive facilities located within their own building. The new ACE student center will provide them with access to extensive studios, laser cutting areas, woodworking workshops, and various other amenities. The design of this building has been shaped by the close proximity of the SAC parking garage and Main Street establishments, which has presented a unique challenge in terms of site layout.

Apache Courts

These apartments will serve as interim lodging while the renovation of the Alazan Apache Courts takes place. Introducing a fresh approach with outdoor areas and shaded spaces, this community is set to become more closely-knit than before.

Alazán-Apache Courts is a public housing community. The neighborhood is located on the city’s West Side, and was built in 1939. It was the first public housing built in the city and is currently made up of three different properties: Alazán, Apache and Guadalupe Homes.

The starting point for my project was the Sonsbeek Pavilion in Arnhem, designed by Aldo Van Eyck. The concept of creating raised homes nestled between these architectural walls, almost like turning the people who live there into pieces of living art, really resonated with me. The unused ground area contributes to a welcoming and expansive oasis for the surrounding neighborhood.

Together Apart

This 10’ x 10’ pavilion offers a shared outdoor space for people to gather while maintaining some degree of separation, particularly in times such as Covid. The partially enclosed design lets natural elements flow in, providing a tranquil and private sanctuary for solitary moments or shared experiences.

During the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic, I took on the responsibility of leading an Esports team. In addition to designing their logo and organizing streaming events, I also took on the role of team coordinator. The birth of SHMUNKEEZ was fueled by a single aspiration: to unite and emerge victorious!

Exploring Biarritz, France, during the rainiest week of the summer was a memorable experience.

I was captivated by the city’s charming architecture tightly packed buildings nestled on top of each other, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

The dining experience was also a highlight of the trip.

My experience attending the UIA event in Copenhagen, Denmark was truly exceptional, and I developed a profound love for the city. It could easily be among my top picks, given its harmonious juxtaposition of well-preserved historical landmarks alongside flourishing, cutting-edge architectural marvels. I can’t wait to explore the rest of what Denmark has to offer.
