SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

A Message from the Chair of the Scholarship Committee On behalf of the Department of Industrial Engineering, I take great pleasure in presenting our departmental scholarship recipients. These students have proven themselves to be excellent scholars and citizens, and we are proud to have them as part of our program. For the 2026-2027 academic year, we have awarded over 115 industrial engineering students over $250,000 in scholarships. Clearly, this would not be possible without the generous financial support of the Arkansas Academy of Industrial Engineering and other members of our industrial engineering family. The students, faculty and staff of the Department of Industrial Engineering are most thankful for this support. Each year, our staff members Ashley Reeves, Amy Faulkner, Ellen Brown, Tricia Moore and Drew Perez spend many hours making the IE scholarship program and this book a reality. I greatly appreciate their efforts, as well as those of the AAIE scholarship co-chairs, Bob Etien and Tim McKenzie, and the department scholarship committee, composed of Brandon Crisel, Tish Pohl, Sandra Eksioglu and Ashley Reeves. If you have questions about our scholarship program, please do not hesitate to contact me at (479) 575-4815 or bcrisel@uark.edu.

Sincerely,

Brandon Crisel

Kareem Abu-Saif My name is Kareem Abu-Saif, and I am a 19year-old from Fayetteville, Arkansas. I spent my early childhood in Arkansas before moving to Amman, Jordan, where I experienced a different educational system that shaped my perspective on academics and college preparation. Industrial engineering runs in my family, my parents and sisters all graduated from the University of Arkansas, with my sisters earning degrees in the field. Seeing their experiences and opportunities made my decision clear, even though I initially considered computer science and computer engineering.

Neda Adeli Ardabili Pursuing a doctorate in industrial engineering, I am driven by a passion for applying analytical thinking to real‑world challenges. My academic journey began in civil engineering and evolved toward a broader interest in optimization and decision-making systems. My current research focuses on building resilient and equitable postdisaster food supply chains, with the goal of improving access to essential resources for vulnerable communities. Alongside research, I contribute as a graduate recruiter and mentor, supporting prospective and early-stage doctoral students. Teaching an engineering economics course this summer has strengthened my communication and leadership skills.
