Scott Wooldridge - Rockwell Automation’s President of Asia Pacific

he first ROKLive event in Australia, hosted by US giant Rockwell Automation in Sydney in August, was a resounding success for the 350 customers and 150 employees and partners who attended and took part in the technology lab sessions. “[ROKLive] is a unique event,” said Rockwell Automation’s President of Asia Pacific Scott Wooldridge, speaking to Industry Update. “From our perspective, we do similar events in different global hubs, but it’s one of the few industrial events where we get people hands-on with technology. “...whether it’s augmented reality or digitisation, artificial intelligence

or analytics, people are able to get immersed in hands-on lab environments and really understand how it might translate to their individual-use cases or manufacturing sectors. “It really speeds up that digitalisation transition because it takes the theory from a PowerPoint slide and makes it reality in a face-to-face environment.” With the company already well-established in Australia, Wooldridge says most attendees who used the 25+ hands-on lab sessions at the event were existing customers, with a strong showing from food and beverage companies as well as miners.
