xternal Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar on Tuesday said that China and Pakistan are two distinct countries and India is committed to resolve the issues with both countries. “Pakistan and China are different countries with distinct relationships and issues. Our focus regarding China will be on finding a solution for the border issues.” EAM Jaishankar said after assuming office at the Ministry of External Affairs for the second time. On Pakistan, the EAM said that there is a need to resolve the persistent issue of cross-border terrorism.

On the lines of the 100-day agenda of Modi 3.0, the NDA government has planned a special campaign for clamping down on corruption and cyber frauds. The special campaign is expected to be implemented soon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first speech after the 2024 election results, made it amply clear that his third term will see exemplary and vigorous action on all modes of corruption.

Promotion of violence never acceptable, says Canadian envoy on pro-Khalistani elements

“Cross-border terror is not a policy of good neighbors. With Pakistan, we aim to resolve this issue,” the EAM said. On resuming his role for the second time, he said, “I am fully confident that under PM Modi’s leadership, the foreign policy of Modi 3.0 will be very successful.” EAM Jaishankar emphasized India’s commitment to presenting its views confidently on the global stage and contributing proactively to international affairs. Highlighting India’s growing influence on the global stage, EAM Jaishankar said, “For us, the influence of India has been steadily growing, not just in terms of our perception but also in terms of what other countries think. They feel that India is truly their friend, and they have seen that in times of crisis, if there is one country that stands with the Global South, it is India.” He pointed to India’s successful advocacy for the African Union’s membership during its G20 presidency as a testament to the world’s trust in India. “The world trusted us and our responsibilities are also increasing. Under the leadership of PM Modi, India’s identity in the world will continue to grow,” the EAM added.

Public Safety Minister LeBlanc had expressed concerns over the imagery depicting the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Vancouver. “This week, there were reports of imagery depicting the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Vancouver. The promotion of violence is never acceptable in Canada,” wrote the Canadian Minister. MacKay on June 8 had said that he was “appalled” by reports of an event in Canada that celebrated the assassination of the late PM Indira Gandhi.

US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the bilateral deal that comes after 15 countries concluded similar long-term security agreements with Kiev including Britain, France and Germany. Biden’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said on Wednesday that the agreement would not include the obligation for Washington to deploy US troops to Ukraine, nor would it contain commitments to supply specific weapon systems. The agreement broadly regulates cooperation between the two countries at all possible levels, including with regard to military equipment, training and maneuvers.
