Divemaster and research diver training program

Education Strategy

Introduction

In 2017 Indo Ocean Project launched our divemaster and research diver internship. Since then it has grown into a comprehensive, award-winning curriculum encompassing marine biology, research techniques, and diver development

The program length varies depending on applicants previous diving experience and starts from a minimum of 6 weeks for existing dive professionals and from 8 weeks for non-professionals.

Through our founder's past experience working for conservation projects and volunteer organisations they decided that the most valuable volunteers had previous high level diving experience and could commit to longer period of times Like any new job, there is a learning curve, and 2 weeks is not enough time to acquire sufficient knowledge and skills to contribute to a higher standard of research. Thus Indo Ocean Project's internship program was established, only accepting divemaster candidates which can be trained as excellent divers, or those with an abundance of previous diving experience.

Before you can be a good research diver, you must first be a good diver.
