WHO ARE WE
Program Director - Daishawn Franklin a graduate of Wayne State University with a Masters of Arts in Teaching Mr Franklin has spent last 14 years in the fashion industry producing fashion productions in 26 cities and 3 countries A former educator and CoOwner of Indie Fashion LLC where the mission is to educate and prepare students for a career path in the evolving fashion industry
THE PURPOSE OF INDIE FASHION LLC IS TO INSPIRE GROWTH AND CREATIVITY THROUGH FASHION WHILE CREATING A CAREER PATH IN THE MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR FASHION AND DESIGN INDUSTRY BY PROVIDING FREE EDUCATION IN THE AREAS OF:
ELEMENTS OF FASHION | FASHION INFLUENCES | FABRIC SOURCING | ELEMENTS OF DESIGN | CLOTHING CONSTRUCTION | SEWING SKILLS | PATTERNS | PROJECT CONSTRUCTION | MARKETING
AT COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM STUDENTS WILL HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING FULLY FUNCTIONING BRAND, AND PRODUCE GARMENTS FOR A STUDENT PRODUCED FASHION SHOW
Program Director - Mercedes Malon, co-owner of Indie Fashion, LLC and signed model She has been seen on Fox 2 and ripped the runway for NYFW & LAFW. Mercedes has worked with celebrity designers; some of who work has been in Vogue and Fashion Bomb Daily Her face has been on many ad campaigns, The Lipbar, Motown, & Indie Fashion to name a few Mercedes Malon also comes with a wealth of experience working with and educating youth She graduated from MSU while there became a member of AKA; studying early childhood and human development She loves fashion, modeling is her passion and she loves working with people!
