Expedia has taken a number of steps on the sustainability front to lower its impact and engage its employees. Below is an abbreviated list of actions, goals and commitments the company is taking to reduce its climate and environmental impact.

Addressing Our Climate Impact ► Offset 100% of our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through a combination of Green-e®

Climate Certified Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and Carbon Offsets. Expedia purchased RECs to offset our energy use, and landfill gas carbon offsets to offset the remaining emissions from all internal business air travel, employee commuting and waste.

The Impact:

Equivalent to keeping 193,431 barrels of oil in the ground

► Additionally, we offset our annual meeting’s emissions through COTAP. ► In 2018 Expedia set a goal of planting 100,000 trees in Puerto Rico and other disaster-stricken areas from the 2017 Hurricane season whose tree canopies were devastated and were prone to mudslides.

Moving to a Sustainable New Corporate Headquarters Salmon-Safe Certification ►

Expedia will be one of the first HQ campuses in the US that has been awarded SalmonSafe Certification.

Removing 17,890 passenger cars from the road for 1 year

2:1 Tree Matching Incentive Expedia gave every employee the opportunity to make a positive impact through a unique 2:1 tree matching incentive where Expedia did a two for one match for every dollar an employee donated towards tree purchases in 2018. ► We are moving to a LEED Certified

v4 campus in Seattle, Washington.

► As part of this move, we set

ambitious targets around energy, water, carbon and human performance to create a campus that is in the top quartile for energy and water performance with a workplace that is focused on employee health and well-being.

This signifies our campus site as a net positive contributor to local watershed health and will improve local ecosystem services.

This award is one of the nation's leading regional eco-labels that transforms land management practices so Pacific salmon can thrive in West Coast watersheds.
