UN Vesak Day celebrated with message of peace and unity

Consul General of India in Melbourne, Dr Sushil Kumar, recently participated in the Victorian United Nations Day of Vesak celebrations held at Melbourne Town Hall. The event marked the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Lord Buddha, highlighting his enduring teachings of peace, compassion, and universal harmony.

In his address, Dr Kumar reflected on the timeless relevance of Buddha’s message in today’s world, emphasising the importance of spiritual unity and interfaith dialogue.

The gathering brought together Buddhist leaders, diplomats, and members of diverse communities, reinforcing Vesak Day’s spirit of global peace and multicultural harmony.
