Sydney community joins prayer meeting to condole victims of Pahalgam terror attack

Friends and well-wishers of India gathered at the Consulate General of India in Sydney on May 2, 2025, to take part in a solemn prayer meeting held in memory of the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Organised by the Consulate, the event drew members of the Indian diaspora, local community leaders, and supporters of peace who came together to express their solidarity with the victims and their families. The gathering served as a poignant reminder of the need for unity in the face of violence and extremism.

Consul General Dr. S. Janakiraman led the prayer ceremony and condemned the heinous act, reaffirming India’s commitment to peace and resilience.
Silent prayers were offered for the departed souls and those injured in the attack. Messages of support and condolence poured in from members of various communities, underscoring the strong ties between India and its global friends.
The Consulate expressed gratitude to all those who attended the meeting and reiterated that India’s spirit of unity and peace would continue to stand strong in the face of adversity. As many as 26 people were killed in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam district on April 22, 2025.
