FICQ represents Indian community at International Mother Language & Harmony Day

The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) took part in the recent celebrations of International Mother Language Day and Harmony Day at Robelle Domain, Springfield Lakes.

Representing FICQ at the event was its treasurer, Parul Mehta, who attended on behalf of the organization.

The event was hosted by the Bangladesh Association in Brisbane Inc. (BAB) in collaboration with the Brisbane Bangla School. It was a vibrant gathering that highlighted the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of the region. Dignitaries such as Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding and Senator Paul Scarr were also in attendance.

The celebration featured a colorful parade, a wreathlaying ceremony, traditional performances of songs and dances, and an array of delicious food, fostering an atmosphere of unity and mutual respect. The event emphasized the significance of preserving linguistic heritage and embracing multiculturalism, reinforcing the message that every language holds a unique value in shaping society.

The participation of FICQ in this gathering reflects the Indian community’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and cultural harmony in Queensland.
