Indian community in WA bids farewell to CG Amarjeet Singh Takhi

The Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA), along with its member associations, recently hosted a farewell event to honour Consul General (CG) Amarjeet Singh Takhi, recognizing his significant contributions to fostering a united Indian diaspora and promoting India’s cultural heritage in Western Australia.

During the event, ISWA president Deepak Sharma expressed the community’s deep appreciation for Takhi’s leadership, acknowledging his efforts in advancing cultural initiatives such as yoga, Ayurveda, and the global promotion of millets. His tenure was marked by active engagement with the community and strengthening ties between India and Western Australia.

Indian-origin parliamentarians Yaz Mubarakai MLA and Dr. Jags MLA praised Takhi for his unwavering support of the Indian diaspora, highlighting his role in enhancing collaboration and community engagement.

Representatives from ISWA and its member associations also felicitated the Consul General in recognition of his service.

In his farewell address, Consul General Takhi commended the Indian community for its contributions to Western Australia’s society and economy. He also expressed gratitude for their continued support of the Consulate’s initiatives and efforts to preserve and promote India’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage.
