High Commissioner Gopal Baglay recently participated in an event titled "Sacred Waters: Spirit and Scale of Maha Kumbh 2025," organized by the Indian High Commission, in collaboration with the Hindu Council of Australia. The gathering delved into the cultural and spiritual significance of the Maha Kumbh Mela, the world's largest spiritual congregation. The event featured discussions on the profound traditions and faith associated with the Maha Kumbh.



High Commissioner Baglay, along with scholars Professor Hemanshu Pota from the University of New South Wales and Dr. Dalbir Ahlawat of Macquarie University, led the discourse. They examined the festival's deep-rooted traditions, its role in uniting millions of devotees, and the extensive preparations required to manage such a monumental event.
