Melbourne, April 4 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

A special orientation and networking event was recently held at the CQ University campus in Melbourne to welcome and support newly arrived Indian students as they begin their academic journey in Australia. The event brought together key speakers, including Consul General of India Dr. Sushil Kumar, Professor Santina Bertone, Deputy Dean at CQ University, Caroline Hartnett, Director of Study Melbourne, and Neeraj Das, CEO of ElecSome.

Representatives from Victoria Police and Life Saving Victoria were also present to guide students on safety, legal rights, and local support services.

Addressing the students, the speakers shared practical advice for adjusting to life in Melbourne, navigating the academic environment, and making the most of available support systems.

Dr. Sushil Kumar encouraged students to stay connected with the Indian community and to register with the Consulate for timely assistance if needed.

Informative brochures were distributed by Study Melbourne and Indian Care Inc., offering valuable resources on student wellbeing, housing, part-time work, and cultural integration. The event served as both an informative and welcoming platform, helping Indian students feel more at home while building connections with fellow students, local authorities, and support networks in Victoria.
