Brisbane, March 28 (Australia India News Newsdesk)
A strong sense of empowerment and cross-cultural solidarity filled the African Village in Moorooka as Bhartiya Samaj successfully hosted a dynamic business, employment, and training workshop, recently. The event attracted participants from Brisbane’s diverse multicultural communities, all eager to access tools for personal and professional growth. With expert insights from representatives of TAFE Queensland, the Department of Trade, Employment & Training, and the Department of Customer Services, Open Data & Small and Family Business, attendees gained valuable guidance on navigating employment systems, accessing government support, and launching or growing small businesses.

The workshop was a celebration of Brisbane’s multicultural identity, with attendees representing backgrounds from India, Africa, Europe, Turkey, China, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Distinguished guests included Senator Paul Scarr, Shadow Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs Bisma Asif MP, and Indian Consul General Neetu Bhagotia, along with leaders from major ethnic and grassroots organizations. Looking ahead, Bhartiya Samaj announced the upcoming Empowering Migrants Expo, scheduled for August 3, 2025, at Brisbane City Hall and King George Square. Expected to draw over 7,000 attendees, the expo will include a flagship networking lunch—Building Bridges: Multicultural Leaders Networking Lunch—aimed at uniting changemakers and community leaders.

Bhartiya Samaj’s ongoing initiatives continue to play a vital role in building an inclusive Queensland, where knowledge, opportunity, and community empowerment go hand in hand.
