By Australia India News Newsdesk
The Empowering Migrants Expo 2024, held at Brisbane City Hall, was a landmark event in Queensland’s ongoing multicultural journey. Organised by Bhartiya Samaj, the inaugural expo brought together more than 3,500 attendees, including community leaders, families, and representatives from over 20 nationalities.

The vibrant, day-long program featured traditional cultural performances, captivating art displays, engaging workshops, and informative resource booths hosted by over 10 government departments and community service organisations. Visitors praised the event as “uplifting,” “inclusive,” and “a proud moment” for Queensland’s migrant communities.

A key highlight of the day was the Migrants’ Awards ceremony, recognising individuals who have made outstanding contributions to migrant wellbeing, youth empowerment, and cultural harmony.

For many Indian-Australian families, the expo was not only a celebration of their roots but also an affirmation of the multicultural values that define Australia. With the success of 2024 setting a strong precedent, anticipation is already building for the 2025 edition.
