Business exchange dialogue marks 10 years of ‘Make in India’

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Make in India initiative, the Consulate and the International Business Council of Australia (IBC) jointly hosted a Business Exchange Dialogue, promoting enhanced trade and business links with India. The event was attended by key business leaders and officials, including Dr. Jags MLA, Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier of Western Australia, who emphasized the critical role business associations play in identifying and connecting opportunities between India and Australia.



Dr. Jags underscored the Western Australian Government’s full support for such initiatives, highlighting the growing trade relationship between the two regions. Consul General of India praised the success of the Make in India initiative and the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which have bolstered manufacturing capabilities, job creation, and innovation across various sectors. He also invited Australian businesses to explore new opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, and cultural exchange.



A distinguished panel, including IBC Vice President Len Greenhalgh, AAMC Training Group’s MD Jeff Mazzini, and others, discussed emerging sectors such as AI-based medtech, skills training, renewable energy, and sustainability practices. The panel was moderated by Dr. Vidhu Sharma, IBC’s National Secretary General, with IBC Treasurer Shibli Khan offering a vote of thanks.
The networking session saw participants expressing interest in developing business ties, particularly in areas such as pharma exports, agricultural products, mining equipment, renewable energy, and digital solutions, signaling a bright future for Australia-India trade collaborations.
