Perth’s Indian community celebrates Uttar Pradesh Divas

In a vibrant showcase of cultural richness, the Indian community in Perth marked the inaugural Uttar Pradesh Divas, celebrating the heritage and traditions of the divine land. The event, a first of its kind, resonated with the essence of Uttar Pradesh's cultural tapestry, offering a glimpse into its timeless traditions.

The festivities featured captivating performances, including Kajri and Birha folk songs presented by the Lok Sangeet Mandli of the Uttar Pradesh Awadh Manch, along with soul-stirring Alha folk melodies. Adding youthful exuberance to the celebration, young girls from Jhankar Perth enthralled the audience with their captivating rendition of the 'Ram Ayenge' dance.


The Academy of Indian Classical and Bollywood Dance artists showcased their mastery with classical and fusion Kathak dance performances, captivating spectators with their grace and precision. The ambiance reverberated with the melodies of Ghazals and Kawwali, further enriching the cultural experience for attendees.
Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi applauded the community's efforts in organizing the Uttar Pradesh Divas celebrations. He commended their dedication to preserving and promoting Indian culture, particularly among the younger generation, fostering a deeper connection to their roots and heritage.
