AIBC Queensland networking event held

Brisbane, 15 May: The Australia India Business Council networking event was held at Stamford Plaza hotel in Brisbane today. The networking event was organised to welcome the AIBC National Chair Ms. Jody Mackay who had flown in from Sydney to hold discussion with government stakeholders, led by the Treasurer of Queensland Mr. Cameron Dick and also included Trade and Investment Queensland officials. The interaction was focused on enriching the India Strategy currently being developed by the Queensland Government to deepen business and trade engagements with India. In the networking event, a large number of key corporate leaders, AIBC industry partners, entrepreneurs, academics, sports persons, media representatives, mining and resource sector executives, international education experts, legal firms and community leaders participated.

The networking was kick-started by Queensland AIBC President Dr Nick Senapati, who welcomed Ms Mackay and also set the background for Ms Mackay' focussed address on ECTA and CECA and PM Modi's upcoming visit to Australia.

Some of the noted guests included India's Honorary Consul Mrs. Archana Singh, immediate past AIBC National Chair Dr. Jim Varghese, Queensland AIBC Vice President Mr. Tony Denholder, AIBC National Education Chair Mrs. Amritha Zachariah, National Sports Chair Dr. Ashutosh Misra, AIBC Queensland committee members Dr. Ram Mohan, Mr. Shaun Star, Mr. Saurabh, and also Mrs Bronwyn Bartsch from Australian Catholic University, Mr Ashawani Soni from Holistic Homecare, Mr Adam Dale from Queensland Cricket, Ms Kriti Bhardwaj from BHP Billiton, Mr. Michael Sing and Mr. Greg Rostron from Rostron Carlyle Rojas, Brett Lovegrove, PVC Global Partnership - University of Queensland and Ms Akashika Mohla from Gandhi Salt March Limited, among others.
