AIBA, Hockey WA explore sports diplomacy to boost India-Australia trade

In a forward-looking dialogue, members of the Australia India Business Association (AIBA), led by president Kamlesh Patel, along with Trid Woodhouse from Asian Engagement at Hockey WA, met with the Consul General in Perth to discuss strengthening trade relations between India and Australia through sport and multicultural engagement.

The meeting explored how sport—particularly hockey—can serve as a dynamic platform to build stronger economic and community ties. By integrating business goals with cultural and sporting initiatives, the group aims to create new avenues for bilateral collaboration and deepen people-to-people connections.

The Consul General welcomed the ideas shared and reaffirmed support for initiatives that promote economic growth while celebrating diversity, unity, and shared interests between the two nations.
