Skill partnerships strengthen India–Australia ties

Closer cooperation in vocational education and workforce development was the focus of talks between Jayant Chaudhary, India’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, and Andrew Giles, Australia’s Minister for Skills and Training.

During the meeting, the two leaders explored avenues for collaboration, including the creation of a bilateral skill recognition framework, designing joint vocational training programs, and launching a skill exchange internship initiative.

The dialogue underscored a shared commitment to equip young people with skills relevant to global markets. For India, the visit highlighted MSDE’s efforts to expand international cooperation in skilling, while for Australia it reaffirmed the growing importance of education and training in strengthening bilateral ties.
