Marathi community celebrates Ganpati Festival in Perth

The Marathi Association of Perth recently hosted its annual Ganpati Mahotsav, with Consul General Kajari Biswas joining community members to mark the festival honoring Lord Ganesha. Hugh Jones MLA also attended, representing Minister Dr Tony Buti MLA.

Founded on July 13, 2017, the Marathi Association of Perth has been dedicated to promoting Marathi culture and traditions in Western Australia. Through events like Ganpati Mahotsav, the association provides a platform for the community to celebrate its heritage while sharing its rich cultural values with the broader Australian public.


The festival featured music, devotional rituals, and familyfriendly activities, celebrating wisdom, prosperity, and new beginnings—the qualities associated with Lord Ganesha. The event reflected the community’s devotion and pride, fostering a sense of unity and cultural connection among attendees.
