Perth, June 6 (Australia India News Newsdesk)
World Environment Day was observed by the Indian Consulate in Perth on June 5 with a tree plantation event and a yoga session, promoting sustainability and well-being in collaboration with Curtin University. Trees were planted at the residence of the Acting Consul General as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative, which encourages tree planting in tribute to one’s mother.

Later in the day, students and staff from Curtin University participated in a yoga session under the One Earth, One Health theme. This was the fourth curtain raiser event hosted by the Consulate in the lead-up to the International Day of Yoga on June 21.

Both activities underlined the Consulate’s commitment to ecological responsibility and holistic health through Indian traditions.

Participants reflected on the importance of everyday actions in protecting the environment and fostering community well-being.
