30th EyeCamp

February 2017 marked the 30'" Eye Camp organizedby Sawan Kirpal Ruhani Mission (SKRM). This medical camp, held twice a year, provides freecataractsurgeriesto patientswho would otherwisenotbeableto afford the expenses ofsuch an operation. Expert eyesurgeonsfromthe United States typicallyvolunteertheir premier high qualitytechnical skills and timetoprovide surgeriesto help makethe camp a success.The eye camps are conductedas part ofboth the International Human Unity Conference (held in February each year) andthe Global Conference on Mysticism (held in September eachyear) organized bySKRM atSantDarshan SinghJi

Dham, Burari.Morethantenthousand individualshavebenefitedfromfree cataractsurgeriessincethelaunch of SKRM'seyecampinFebruary2002.

Patients attendingtheeye camps are firstscreened by a medical team.Selected patients,based on medical eligibility, arethentransportedto !CAREhospital, Naida, wheretheyundergosurgerywith the help ofstate--of-the-art equipment,to removethecataracts.All patients benefit from follow up visits and are prescribed eye dropsforseveral weeksfollowingthe operation, sotheycan receive maximum benefitfrom thesurgery.Thisvoluntary servicetothe community has had a significantimpacttothe vision and quality ofpatients' lives.The US clinicalteam worked in collaborationwithdoctorsat ICARE hospital, one ofIndia'stop eye hospitals.All services were rendered free of charge and in a spirit of selfless service to humanity. www.sos.o,g www.sos.org/aus/austra/ia
