Alltheplayers,standingproudintheir glisteninguniforms,were excited aboutthe game.YCCCwonthemssandoptedto bowlinthe30-overmatch.

EachcoUegeneededateamoftwo tOparticipateintheinter-collegedebate competitions.Oneparticipantspoke'for' thetopicoftl1edebateandtheother spoke'against' it.Therewasacompetition the foUowingweekinanearbycity,and thedebateteamwereindireneedofa substitutedebater.SoIwasgiventhegreen light.Untried.Untested.

Increaseheatandcontinuetosaute tillthetomatoeshaveturnedmushy andthewholemixturebeginstocome together.

At.thisstageadd vegemite; mix well, tasteandthenseasonwithsaltasthe vegemite isnaturallysalty.

Balanceflavourswithlemonjuice and removefromheat.Allowto cool.

Rubthechickenpieceswithsaltand pepper; applythe preparedmasala (reservealittle)liberallyalloverthe chickenpiecesandrefrigerateforat least30 minutesoraslongasyou

can.Bringtoroomtemperaturebefore roasting.

Heattheovento200 °c(fanforced) andlineanovenprooftraywith bakingpaper.Placethechicken piecesinside(skinsidefacing upwards)alongwiththedicedonions. Applyabitofthereservedvegemite masalaovertheonionsandsprinkle withsalt.

Roastfor15minutesandthentum thechickenpiecesover;addthe mushroomsatthisstage.Applythe remainingmasalaoverthechicken androastagainforanother10 minutes.

Tumthechickenpiecesoveragain, increaseheatto220•Candcookfor another5minutes (ortilldone)to browntheskin.

Removefromoven,keepcoveredand allowtorestforatleast10 minutes beforeserving.

Blanchtheasparagusandkeepaside. Addbuttertoapanandaddthegarlic cloves;cookonlowheattillthegarlic takesonalightbrowncolour,then addthechilliflakes.

Immediatelyaddtheasparagus, seasonwithsaltandstirfryonhigh heatforabout15seconds.

Cookthepotatoesinsaltedboiling watertillsoft.

Add2tbsp buttertoasmall pan alongwiththe garlic;cookonlow heattillgarlicturnsgolden.Remove fromflameandaddthecrushed cuminseedsandoregano. Keep aside.

Inanotherpan,placethepotatoes, milkandremainingbutter.Mash andcookonlowheatwhisking continuouslytillyougetasmooth, creamymixture.

Seasonwithsaltandpepper;remove whendesiredtexturehasbeen achieved.Ifyouwantsupercreamy texture,passthemashedpotatoes througha sieve(Ididn'tdothis, though).
