December 2024 was another high point. This was when the Pickleball Peru Federation became officially recognized as a legal entity. “This recognition allows us to develop the sport at a professional level,” she said. “We can now provide opportunities for young athletes to compete internationally and access scholarships.” Speaking of academics, Ramirez pursued an MBA in General Management at Indiana Tech. The program, which she discovered through Instagram, offered her the flexibility to study remotely while maintaining her life in Peru. “The MBA taught me strategic thinking and leadership skills,” she said. “It helped me transition from being the one doing the work to leading and developing strategies for success.” Ramirez’s dedication to her studies paid off in May 2025 when she attended her commencement ceremony on campus in Fort Wayne. She completed the program in 2024, but had some travel-related issues that prevented her from attending commencement that year. So, the delayed gratification made the occasion even sweeter. “It was an incredible experience,” she recalled. “Meeting my classmates from across Latin America and sharing that moment with my family was unforgettable.”

Busy with her day job and volunteer obligations, Ramirez’s life is full. But she also makes time to think about the future. Her dream is to establish her own nonprofit organization to provide English lessons to children in underserved areas of Peru.
“Language is powerful,” she said. “It has opened so many doors for me, and I want to give that opportunity to others.” She also plans to start her own translation firm, building on her recent certification as a professional translator. In her words, “It’s important to work for yourself and create opportunities for others.” Despite her achievements, Ramirez remains grounded in her mission to serve others.
Although she earned her MBA from Indiana Tech in 2024, Ramirez was able to attend commencement ceremonies in Fort Wayne in May.
“If you do things with heart and passion, everything finds its way,” she said.
