maritime security, counter-terrorism, countering disinformation, and cyber security. It was also decided that Japan is going to host the next Quad Leaders' Summit in the first half of 2022. The Quad recognises that international law, peace, and security in the maritime domain underpins the development and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific and reiterates the importance of adherence to international law, particularly as reflected in the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), to meet challenges to the maritime rules-based order, including in the South and East China Seas with deepened engagement with regional partners, including through capacity-building and technical assistance, to strengthen maritime domain awareness, protect their ability to develop offshore resources, consistent with UNCLOS, ensure freedom of navigation and overflight, combat challenges, such as illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing, and promote the safety and security of sea lanes of communication, read the joint statement issued after the

tarting as a bakery in the industrial part of Shepparton, a small processing company has been setting a new and unique trend in the sprawling dairy town. Kisaan, which means "farmer" in Punjabi, commenced making Indian-style cheese in 2016 before transitioning to unhomogenised milk. The owners, Jaspreet Singh and Surinder Singh (unrelated) met in Melbourne after arriving in Australia in 2006 and worked as taxi drivers and truck drivers prior to starting a dairy processor. When Jaspreet Singh had moved to Shepparton, he was aware that it was the prime centre for dairy farms and mass production of milk was occurring in the region. He was also aware that there was a huge Indian community whose numbers were soaring annually. Continued on page 6

Quad acknowledges the importance of sub-regional mechanisms and institutions, including in the Mekong sub-region. and will continue to support Cambodia in its important role as 2022 ASEAN Chair, it added. In the meeting, it was noted that the Quad partners have collectively provided more than 500 million vaccine doses, and have pledged to donate more than 1.3 billion vaccine doses globally. It alo noted the Quad Vaccine Partnership's rapid progress in expanding vaccine production at the Biological E Ltd facility in India, which aims to deliver at least 1 billion vaccines by the end of 2022. Quad is also assisting to train healthcare workers, combat vaccine hesitancy, and augment infrastructure, especially cold chain systems, for 'last mile' vaccine delivery. "We welcome the timely initiative for coordinating the response to combat the Covid pandemic under a Global Action Plan for Enhanced Engagement," the statement said.
Humara Bajaj, the original Make in India champion, passes away Pune (Maharashtra), Feb 12 (IANS): Renowned industrialist Rahul Bajaj -- the doyen of the Bajaj Group, who made his two-wheelers a household name with the catchy slogan 'Hamara Bajaj' -- passed away in Pune following a prolonged illness. He was 83. He was ailing from cancer for a long time and the end came at the Ruby Hospital at around 2.30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, sending waves of grief in corporate and political circles. Bajaj had taken charge of the Bajaj Group in 1965 and during his captaincy, the group soared to one of the biggest in the sub-continent. As per available indications, his last rites shall be performed at the Vaikunth Crematorium on Sunday. Top business and political leaders including his close family friend

Australia, India to sign agreement on travel and tourism
D
an Tehan, Australia’s Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, recently visited India to sign an agreement promoting travel and tourism between the two countries. The announcement comes as Australia prepares to reopen its borders to all double-vaccinated visa holders, including tourists, on February 21.
Mr Tehan was in India to take forward talks on a free trade agreement and market Australia as a top student and tourist destination. Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs and Food, and Public Distribution and Textiles Piyush Goyal, met with him multiple times.
