It is with great pride that we extend a warm welcome to each of you on behalf of the Indiana Association of School Principals, Department of Student Programs. It is exciting to share in the recognition of such exemplary leadership, commitment and skill from Indiana’s youth.

Whenever we are given the opportunity to bring together such a group of young talent, we should stand together as a community to celebrate those successes. Our purpose in joining together today is to recognize the commitment and perseverance of schools from across the state for the Indiana Cheer Championship.

Each squad’s participation in today’s event speaks highly of each team member’s dedication and commitment to giving their personal best.

The hard work and commitment requires endless hours of practice and passion for what they do, as well as perseverance on the part of the entire squad. Each team must work together for the success of one another.

We challenge each of you to reflect a moment on the support given you by your personal support system: family, friends, teachers, coaches and community members. We each need our cheerleaders to support our dreams and celebrate our goals. As you aspire to your dreams and goals today, take a moment to remember “your team”. Thank each for the support they have given. Celebrate the success of each community represented at this event today.

Regardless of today’s outcome, each of you will leave here a champion. You set your sights on a goal and went after it. Life is a continuous journey filled with experiences. Our success depends on what we learn from each experience and how we use it to improve our journey. May today be all that you dreamed!

David Pygman is a professional voice actor with over a decade of experience in live entertainment, radio, advertising, educational productions, cartoons and more. David’s natural baritone voice is clear, dynamic and energizing. At the same time, he is able to shape it into several characters and impersonations.

David is best known as the public address voice of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays from 2007-2009. Returning to his Hoosier roots, David records from a professional studio in central Indiana.

David can be heard regularly at Victory Field as the PA announcer for the Indianapolis Indians and has previous served as the public address voice for the Indy Fuel, various events at Lucas Oil Stadium, and on air with WCBK. We are proud and excited to have David as a part of the Indiana Cheer Championship and we hope that you enjoy his work here today!
