Description Trientine (TriLaWil), manufactured by Laurus Labs Ltd is a chelating agent. It is used for the treatment of Wilson’s disease (hepatolenticular degeneration) in patients intolerant to medicine called Penicillamine. The medication should be used when continued therapy with Penicillamine is no longer possible due to intolerable or life-endangering side effects. Limitation(s) of use: Unlike penicillamine, Trientine (TriLaWil Capsule) is not recommended in cystinuria or rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Trientine is not indicated to treat biliary cirrhosis.

Dosage and Side Effects The recommended initial dosage of Trientine Capsule is 500 mg to 750 mg per day for pediatric patients and 750 mg to 1,250 mg per day for adults given in divided doses 2, 3, or 4 times daily. Dosage may be increased to a maximum of 2,000 mg per day for adults or 1,500 mg per day for pediatric patients aged 12 or less. 1/4
