As part of Aarhus' large-scale plan to transform the entire region into a cultural hub for innovation, INDEX: Design to Improve Life® facilitated a series of educational challenges for schools across the entire Central Denmark Region.
The Design to Improve Life Challenges were run over three years and engaged over 1,000 students from nine municipalities. For each cycle, students were asked to address three global challenges by designing solutions for their own local towns and cities. These challenges included water problems in connection with climate change; CO2 emissions from transport; and the public disconnection to food origins and production.
This publication ‘Ideas for a Better World - Designed by Kids’ showcases a collection of the designs, from a total of 578 solutions, from all three Design to Improve Life Challenges.
