WHY THE Y The Y is an association of people who have committed to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all people, regardless of their ability to pay. We are a non-profit, charitable organization established to provide programs and services to youth, adults and families in order to strengthen the community. The YMCA is funded locally. Funds raised through contributions, endowments and membership fees are used to provide services in Will, Grundy and part of Kendall Counties.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR PROGRAMS • Online by visiting www.jolietymca.org • In person by visiting your local branch • By phone by calling (815) SAY-YMCA (current members) The Greater Joliet Area YMCA accepts cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover. In most cases, phone registration is accepted for current members when paying by a credit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT).

Outstanding balances must be paid before a member will be allowed to register for future programs. Facility Members must maintain their memberships throughout the duration of a program in order to pay Facility Member pricing. System credits and promotional codes may be used online.

All classes have a maximum and minimum number of participants. When possible, classes will be added to accommodate wait lists and to expand those offerings that are in high demand. Classes below the minimum will be combined when possible, and as a last alternative, will be cancelled.

Healthy parents are happy parents. Let your child have fun at the Y while you take time for yourself to get fit. There is no need to call ahead. Parents must remain in the facility while their children are in the playroom.

LET’S STAY HEALTHY

TOGETHER Because the health and safety of our YMCA community remains our top priority, we are doing everything possible to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety. We have also made modifications to our policies and programs to facilitate new safety and social distancing guidelines.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT To maintain a healthy environment, all members and staff will be required to adhere to the following health and safety guidelines when visiting our YMCA facilities.

If you have any concerns or questions during your visit, please speak to a member of our staff team.

Required Health Screening Upon entering the YMCA, both members and staff will be required to answer 5 health screening questions: 1. Have you or anyone in your household traveled to another country in the last 14 days?

2. Have you been in contact with someone under investigation for, or with a confirmed case of, COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

3. Have you or a family member in your household been instructed to self-quarantine?

4. In the last 3 days, have you experienced a fever of 100.4 or higher?

5. Are you currently experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19?

For the safety and well-being of our YMCA community, anyone who answers YES to any of the above questions will not be permitted to visit the YMCA on that day.

Masks Are Required Both members and staff will be required to practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering when visiting the Y. Members should plan to have a mask or face covering with them at all times, and will be expected to wear it at the Y when not using the pool or exercising in designated socially distanced spaces in the wellness center or in a group exercise class.

Frequent Handwashing and Sanitizing

Introducing the YMCA On the Go App

Members and staff will be asked to help prevent the spread of germs by washing their hands upon entering any YMCA facility. For your convenience, we have installed additional hand sanitizers throughout our YMCA.

Required Equipment Wipedown When using the wellness center, please remember to wipe down equipment before and after use with the EPA-approved disinfectant we have provided.

Staggered Equipment To allow for social distancing, some equipment in our wellness center may be temporarily closed or relocated.

Limiting Class Sizes and Room Capacities To ensure members can safely practice social distancing while visiting the YMCA, we will temporarily be limiting the number of people allowed in YMCA classes, programs, and spaces. In the wellness center, members will notice that red boxes have been installed on the floor around certain pieces of equipment.

To ensure social distancing, only one person is permitted in each red box at a time.

We ask for your continued cooperation as we work together to keep our members and staff safe and healthy. We want to keep our doors open for as many members as possible. Doing so means taking safety seriously. If you have any concerns or questions at any time during your visit, please speak to a member of our staff team. Before and After School Youth Enrichment Program

In the YMCA’s Before and After School program, kids participate in physical, learning, and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. Kids have fun, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.

The Morris Community YMCA’s Before and After School Program serves children at Morris Grade School and Saratoga Elementary School.

Participants may start attending Kid Zone four business days after the day registration is completed.

With three convenient locations, flexible schedules, and a variety of volunteer roles available, area teens will be sure to find a volunteer opportunity that peaks their interest and proves to be a rewarding experience.

The Y’s Teens and Young Adults (TAYA) programming provides area high school students with the guidance and support they need to discover their identities, embrace their passions, and become their best selves. TAYA workshops are open to all. Advanced registration is required.

SUMMER’S COOLER AT THE YMCA Summer Day Camp

MORRIS COMMUNITY YMCA At the Morris Community YMCA, we provide a safe, affordable and fun summer day camp program for youth and teens. YMCA Summer Day Camp offers kids a chance to have fun and develop new friendships while building a healthy spirit, mind, and body.

Campers will enjoy up to ten weeks of summer fun full of sports, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, and more. All participants must wear a mask.

SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS Let the Fun Begin When kids play sports they do more than just exercise. Besides being physically active, they develop higher self-esteem, perform better in school and work better in groups. The Y’s Youth Sports program teaches kids the fundamentals of the game while emphasizing the importance of teamwork. All sports camp participants should pack a water bottle, hat, snack and sunscreen.

Morris Community High School – Wrestling Room This introductory camp is designed for campers who are looking to learn cheers, jumps and fun routines. On Thursday camp will cheer for the game in Flag Football Camp with the routine learned throughout the week.

Facility Members are encouraged to meet with a member of our fitness staff for a free one-hour fitness consultation. During this session, our staff will help you to identify your health and wellness goals, provide you with a fitness evaluation, an orientation in our Wellness Center, and provide you with an overview of our group exercise and personal training programs.

This free consultation will help you take the first step on your journey to a healthy lifestyle.

Morris Community High School – Pom Room Campers will learn the latest routines and have lots of fun performing during this high-energy camp.

In this 45 minute class you will pair TRX with different body weight exercises in high volume (reps), low resistance (weight) workouts. Great for all levels of fitness and experience, this class will be primarily geared at improving muscle tone and definition, while also improving functional strength, flexibility, balance, and core stability with TRX! FitStart is a program designed for the new exerciser or those who have trouble sticking to a workout program.

Throughout the 12-week program, participants will meet with a Fit Coach up to four times. During these meetings, your workouts will be evaluated and, as your fitness level increases, so will your workout intensity. The first session will consist of cardio. Your second and third sessions will introduce you to strength training equipment and the fourth session will review and make sure you are comfortable with your new fitness plan.

FitStart is not personal training, but your coach will help you determine and meet your goals FitStart is free to Facility Members.
